I don't think they add much functional or persisting aesthetic value to me, but your mileage may vary.

So, in the nutshell, the finer things in life does not have to be the most expensive or exotic item or place one could have.

saw a Zenith Tourbillion at Pavillion for RM164,900 before discount. Even after 25% off, it's still a little sum. If you can afford it, why not?  It sure is pretty though.

Why not, if you can afford it, at least some of us will envy, then you can come out GTG and let us moles, and go home dream about it ;D

Tourbillion never really got to me.... yet...
But I am still dreaming for a minute repeater.

IMHO, yes. Somehow the huge premium 2 me is not justifiable.

Well, in the olden days, a tourbillon watch is a watch with a mechanism to cancel the negative effect of gravity on the watch movement. Since the 19th century, it has become a modern luxury watchmaking 's most prized possession.

My guess is that a tourbillon watch consist of more complex mechanism, hence the dearer price.

Yes, seagull and poljot do have tourbillon too.
From feedback their movement is "rougher" as compared with Swiss counterpart, hence the disparity in prices.

I know someone, Local Malaysian man who collects mostly PP watches and he owns almost 80 PP's  :Startled:

Atleast 15 of his PP's collection having a Tourbillon Movement and believe it or not, as what he told me a service cost for it would be around 50K since most of the complicated movements will be send direct to Swiss :Startled:

I would't mind getting a Tourbillon watch if im a uber rich guy who is willing to pay for amount of atleast 2 Rolex for service cost!

( Service cost i stated is what had been told by the owner and im not sure about other brand service cost for a tourbillon movement )

Toubillons are a symbol of watchmaking skill. Not many can make it. Which is why some independent watchmakers like Hajime Asaoka built his first production watch with a tourbillon... As if to say,"Hey, I can do this".

As the Tourbillon was created by Breguet, shouldn't we go for that brand when it comes to this movement?  :D
