May be I am exceptional, I normally check thorough of the watch I receive, include the outer box, inner box, the strap, the card, the manual, before I start operate the watch.
I touch, feel, smell (if it is pre-owned, better clean/wash first before smell it, cause you wouldn't want the sweat odor). Then find any dent, scratch if any, and get the watch operate properly before I wear it on my wrist. That is just me
