Watch Service Centre Experience

Guys and Gurls,

Just want to share some points noted when I visited some of the service centre in KL.

Maybe, you also want to share your experience:

Oris – Menara UOA2
-Small lounge
-No refreshments
-Open window for customers to view the watchmaker working on your watch
-Helpful staff

Ball – Menara Standard Chartered
-Nice lounge
-Drinking water fountain with nice Ball Watch Paper Cups
-Helpful staff
-Cannot see the watchmakers doing their jobs

Rolex – Menara Dion
-Big lounge – cosy and stylish
-No refreshments
-Nice Rolex reading materials that you can take away.
-Cannot see the watchmakers doing their jobs
-Staff a bit uptight.. guess due to the brand

Swatch Group(Omega etc) – Wisma Goldhill
-Big lounge – Nice
-Sweets and Drinking water provided
-Reading materials available while waiting for the service (quite slow)
-Reception staff not really knowledgeable on the service requested, always asking her colleague (her colleague is by the way really helpful and nice looking too)
-Can see the watchmakers doing their stuff but from far

Richemont(Panerai etc) – Menara HLA
-Small lounge
-The reception staff is quite friendly
-All watch will be sent to Singapore for service (long waiting time)
-They are moving to a new place by November, by that time they will have a watchmaker team for service works (no need to send to Singapore)

Hehe good to know the pretty one is still working at Swatch.

Agree on their wait time, i once brought in my dad's Tissot to change from strap to bracelet as i ordered one from them.
Took them 30mins just to change to bracelet! And another 10mins to adjust the links.

I just checked with them, it seems that they are shorthanded right now, and the watch (mine is 2-hand also) need to be sent to Singapore with waiting time to almost 3 months.

The good news is that they are moving to Standard Charted building by end of the year and they will have the full team again.

My experience with Tag Heuer service centre :-

Tag Heuer - Centra Plaza
- Decent lounge, "clinic" like with reading material provided
- Complimentary water provided
- Staff generally not too friendly but there are one or two exceptions. Business-like and can be curt with their answers.
- Servicing and repairs are mainly done at the centre.
- Watchmakers at the back office, can't see them working.
- Generally, if you need your watch serviced / repaired, the watch will have to be first evaluated by the watchmaker. The evaluation usually takes about 10-15 mins.. You will have to wait till the evaluation is done and a quotation provided to you before you can leave the watch with them. Can be quite a pain if you are in hurry.
- It also takes a long time for a watch to be serviced / repaired. The standard turnaround time quoted is 10 weeks. From my experience though, normal maintenance servicing for an automatic work usually takes about 4-5 weeks.
