Interesting ......just to share my experience, I was at Pavillion yesterday and was on a mission to molest some watches.
Was in shorts and polo since its a holiday, and don't have an expensive watch on, just my lumtec.
Don't have any problems getting attentions from SA and asking them to let me molest molest....

List of victims
Chopard Happy Sport? very pointless way of using lose diamonds on the the dial of the watch. p.s. was with some ladies....not my choice
Cartier Santos

What's the price of the Sub, if I may ask? I reckon it's from the Rolex boutique?

I was at KLCC for some meetings today.
Had some time in between and decided to pop into Sxxxxxx with my friend who is interested in some Panerai.
Must be our bad luck as there were a couple of 'rich' tourists already inside(I think from Taiwan or China cos they spoke Mandarin and had a personal, pretty lady tour-guide!).
All the SA's were focused on serving them and nobody came round to serve us, but for 1 SA who kept looking at us from the opposite counter.   ???
After a few minutes, my friend got fed up and we both left the shop.
I wonder if it was because we were dressed kinda casual - I was in jeans and long sleeve shirt while my friend wore simple slacks with teeshirt - gave those SAs the idea that we were not going to be good customers.
Well, too bad for them cos they just pissed off a director of an international fund management co with 2 banks under their group.  :HammerHead:
Hmmmm...maybe I shouldn't have worn that 'no-eye-see' AX piece.   :mooning:

I also did not have good experience with that S shop in KLCC.  Too lansi in my view.  That's why I got my watches from the others.  Once you know the sales people, it doesn't matter what you wear.  I think I can get great service in Cortina even if I were to wear a swimming trunk!  ;D

What you posted may be true.
But the point is that there are people like my friend, who handles millions of $$$ and has quite a few $$$ himself, who dresses as he please - and that is very casual. :mooning:
Sales people in any shop should be trained to be courteous and service-oriented, no matter who walks into the shop or how he/she is dressed.  :Dancing_banana:
After all, they do get commission from successful sales, right?
Take care, Ciao!

Most of these langsi SA have their own repeat customers.... These customers just call them directly and ask for new stocks available.

I guess their are making enough commissions from their selected customer friends.... No time to entertain those window shoppers....

I believe in the real world the AD shops have return customer who enough to support them. Those walk-in customer i believe among 100 only less than 10 will buy.

Yeah, I agree.
Their repeat customers is all they need.
Walk in customers they leave for noobs SA to serve.
And if big shot, got room to view and molest watches...

I don't need my ego stroked by being seen buying watches in a KL watch shop.

If I want good service and competitive prices, I go to AD in smaller towns.

So, in the nutshell, the finer things in life does not have to be the most expensive or exotic item or place one could have.

I agree with brolex. ADs in small towns are friendlier and gives better discounts (possibly because of cheaper overheads). My favourite is in Kuching.

If you aren't aware of it yet, there is a quaint little shop in Sarawak Plaza, Kuching that also has quite a fair bit of used watches.

My trick is always showing the SA that I know a lot about watches and I'm really interested of getting one. This, based on my experience will get their attention.

I wear my daily beater, in T-shirt, short & slipper when I visited the AD @ KLCC last weekend:
The infamous Orient quartz

Owned these for a brief moment:
5960P on my wrist  ;)

5960P sealed in box

5980/1A sealed in box

Before I left, the SA presented me with this brochure:

Collection 2010-2011

Philippe & Thierry Stern

The legendary 1415HU, circa 1939, 18K pink gold wrist watch with enamel dial. Sold at Antiquorum, Geneva, in Apr 2002, @ SFr. 2,735,500, USD 1,678,963. However, its platinum sibling fetched a whopping SFr. 6,603,500, USD 4,026,524 during the same auction!

Thank you for looking.

Hi Zitan.... are you in medical field?
