Ten years ago, I was practically buying everythings (watches) I fancied. Its a want but not necessary a need. First It was all a Rolexes rage, followed by Breitlings, JLC, Cartier, IWC,Tudors, a lot of lesser brand name and whats not, etc - all within my range of budgets.
Now, ten years after, what remains faithful is my Cartier, IWC and Tudor where the rest are being flipped or sold off to re-group my bank balance.
And ten years from now, I would probably stick to something easier - like a simple rolex, ie the Explorer 1 (Yup, Takashi, you are spot on!) an understates watch for all occasion wear.
As for the time being, I would play around with simple mechanical (a homage maybe) time pieces to just my time and ego?
At my time and age, I would go for simple things in life such as good health and good company to chit chat with. Good and nice food and some holidays (is) what I am looking forward to ...in my many years to come.
My 2 cents worth.
