New Tudor watches arrive on M'sian shores
« on: September 09, 2009, 07:03:06 AM »
Hi guys,
Sorry if somebody else has already posted this. I was informed by HG that the new Tudor models (Basel 2009) are now available at AD outlets.
So those of you who were drooling over the new Hydronaut II, Grantour chronos and the Hydro 1200 now have the perfect excuse to spend more money and help stimulate the local economy.
Also available are the new 41mm Datejust IIs.

Great. I am actually looking forward to view these models before committing any purchase.

I am almost a recovered watchaholic, but last checked shows only 70% recovered. How?

Guys, if given a choice between the Tudor Iconaut GMT Chrono and the Grantour Chrono, which one  will you choose.
Which one will stand the test of time... 5 or 10 years dowb the road.

Sorry if it seem misleading.... As it's already a thread on Tudor..figured just post the question here.  Came across this two model after decided not to go with the Omega. Can't seems to make up my mind whether to get the Iconaut GMT Chrono or Grantour Chrono.

Iconaut is discontinued production but still selling.  Grantour is newer and still in production.

Any opinion??

The Iconaut is powered by the Valjoux 7754 while the Grantour Chrono (non flyback) uses the Valjoux 7753. You can't really go wrong with both of these time tested calibers based on the venerable 7750.

I would be less interested in the Flyback version of the Grantour chrono since Tudor reportedly used the 2892 with a piggy back chrono module in the new model.

The Iconaut is a large wristwatch with bigger diameter and thicker case than the Grantour. I would suggest that you test both these watches on your wrist and select the one that sings to you the most.
