« on: July 27, 2011, 08:10:42 PM »
Hi there, my wife birthday is coming soon and plan to buy her a good and reasonably price automatic watch below RM10k ( brand new ). She has a small wrist and so far I have look a few options :

1) omega constellation
2) longines master collection automatic

Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Do you have an idea if she likes sporty or dressy type? Many options in either, and some crossovers too...

for brand new watch, the 3 option is a nice choose. if u don mind a pre own, then with rm10k u can get a very nice rolex.

The Ball Lady Ohio is a nice watch. Just Google the picture. But at 31mm, it may appear big for my wife ( petite size ). Wonder how much does it cost brand new? Maybe around 3-4k? She prefer elegant watch not sport type.

For dressy and alternatives from Longines/Tag etc, there are some nice ladies models from Oris, Baume et Mercier and Hamilton.

For a present, Id go for new...I dont think ladies appreciate second hand stuff unlike WIS

knowing the power of advertisement, i think the omega constellation will send her over the moon!

if you dont intend it to be a surprise, a good way is to bring her along and let her see, try and decide .

if you want it to be a surprise, work a deal with the shop to arrange for exchange if wife not happy with it...

If she's not into sports watch and not a WIS, I give the vote to Omega Constellation since I also bought that for my wife early last year. You have a choice for 24mm or 27mm, and if wanna add more bling depending on your wife's preference, you can also choose the diamond bezel with polished bands.

Well, since it's a present I'm sure you wouldn't consider the resale value.

I chose the 27mm, brushed quartz version for my wife.

If you dont mind a quartz then some Cartier are below 10k.
And we all know the ladies love Cartier.

Bro ANCS88, omega constellation is indeed a nice watch. The design looks feminine. Nowadays it is hard to get more than 10% for omega watch. I will also look into Cartier as suggested by Takashi.

Thanks everybody for the good suggestions. Will bring her to a few watch shop and let her decides ;D As a birthday gift, she definitely wants a brand new watch. She will have a hard time to choose which one as most of these watches are beautiful

The Omega Constellation is a very nice piece.

For 10k it is not worth buying a tag.

Perhaps you would like to add a few K more and get a rolex instead.

Yeah, always have that in mind ( buying Rolex for my wife ) but knowing Rolex, I do not know whether adding a few more RM k can get me a new Rolex for ladies? For a used Rolex, I have come across quite a few units  :)
