The IWC Big Ingenieur in 45.5 mm chunk of metal with 7 days power reserve.
Probus Scafusia .......definitely a KEEPER!
This chunk of metal in croc leather strap is my favorite "piece". I am compelled to say so because it was an anniversary gift from my better half
But seriously, I love this tank. Sits very well on my huge wrist and the in-house 7 day PR movement is top notch.

This model however, deviated a bit from the traditional "anti-magnetic" complication from which the Ingenieur line is very well known,
Why, because this particular Inge 5005 boasts of a crystal back display showcasing the in-house 7 day PR movement.
To some hard core and purist Ingenieur followers, this is a let down. Personally, I regard the display case back a selling point.

You've got to admire the Pellaton winding mechanism at the back. It is very efficient and way ahead of its time.
Unlike other rotating weight on automatic rotor winding mechanism which needs one full revolution (360 degree) to make 1 full wind, it only takes the pellaton winding to swing in <90 degrees to produce 1 full wind.
This should translate to a power reserve that can easily be loaded in a few swings of the hand
But after several months of usage, this started to grow out on me. Flipping it was not an option so I thought of giving it a major make-over.
This is what came out with the tinkering:

And the customary wrist shot

Oh, and did I mention that IWC came out with the same metal band edition just like mine using the exact metal band 6 months after the make over
Thanks for looking
