it is hard....007 is a true seiko legend...SRP043 is a diver that look a bit like pilot....we (my group of watch kaki) refer it as Seiko DILOT

The 007 has classic design to it, the Dilot (i prefer to use this nickname) has more modern look. Tad more handsome than 007.bit more class

U cant be wrong to love 007 for its renowned history....but dilot is a fresh new seiko look..

The Dilot powered by 4R15 movement, no wind and hack and if i am not wrong it has 50hrs power movement...not to say 4R15 as unique movement...but the one used on 007 is more commonly available

the 007 powered by 7sxxx(i cant recall the name) 21 jewel and like i said before...you cant go wrong with it....proven reliability....and you can service it almost in any shop (of course not at kedai mamak juat roti canai) some feel that 7S already over rated or overly used....

if you want to go for 007...invest a bit and get the J model...(made for japan market) honestly, no different from normal model other than bragging right among seiko's fan....show it to aunty jual sayur...she would know the different.....hehehhe

007 is cheaper i think ??? yes ???

with bit of creativity ...u can do lot of mod on 007....lot of spare part available too....

So sum it up

I personally prefer the SR043 ...

just my 2 cent

on looks alone i'd go with the srp043 but that is just me. You are the one who is going to wear the watch so the only advice i can give you is to go to the shop, wear both, which watch you are reluctant to take off once the price is mentioned, that is watch you buy. after you buy, dont go and look at another until you have enough funding.
Your ONLY job in this world is to make sure that you are happy

Hey,thanks for the ideas, guys.I appreciate them very much.
Actually I like the 007 design, but IMHO the quality is not as sharp as the Dilot/Spork.You can see it from the pic above.
On the other hand, the Dilot doesn't look like the traditional diver's.Looks a bit confused, (and very much Sinn-ish),IMHO...I like the rubber strap tho heheh...

Get the sumo if you can lay hands on one. This is the iconic seiko of modern times and its price keep increasing year after year.Had a couple and enjoyed them while they lasted

Besview - Sorry if my following comment did not suit you...Just my opinion...sorry again

In my opinion with regard with Sumo, it is indeed handsome looking watch but not worth the price...The model come with a few flaw...I have handled the watch before, and honestly i wouldnt mind the flaw, if the price is less than what it is....perhaps best to save a lil bit more and get the MM300...hehehe

if you like to know the flaw you can read it

Bro, I think its a bit of a hit or miss on the flaws, as even the MM300 has some of these flaws as reported on WUS. The winding problem was apparently in the earlier batch of Sumo divers. As for the bezel and date alignment that is definitely a hit and miss with Seiko as I've come across many watches with similar issues.

I personally think the Sumo is the best bang for buck diver from Seiko that is within 2K. I don't think we will see another diver from Seiko with that type of build quality within that price range ever again in today's inflated climate. Heck I haven't seen any diver with that type of build in that price range (retail price not discounted price). Personal opinion of course.  ;D  Here's a review by The Watch Observer http://forums.watchuseek.com/f67/seiko-scuba-200-sumo-review-pics-562943.html

To Alcip, like the rest says buy the one that you like most. But since you ask for opinion. ;D

I've flipped my SKX007, 011 and kept my 009. It definitely has the classic look. It's been released for some time now so you can understand the quality is not as "sharp" as the Spork. Has the workhorse movement in the 7S26. It's lighter in weight, decent 42mm case size for its 22mm lug size. Looks great on nato straps. Overall its quite versatile. I feel the classic look just never goes away. You'd still be wearing it in 10-15years time with all the wabi and patina. Unless of course 60mm watches catches on.  ;D

The Spork on the other hand is newer, has a newer movement, robust, is in line with today's bigger case size. But for me somehow the Spork is one of those that catches the eye when you first see it (like it did for me) but then the feeling sort of fizzles out. The look is also slightly unbalanced. Perhaps its bcoz I like to change straps and often it doesn't feel balanced on diff straps. The case is too big and thick for the 20mm lugs. Those lugs are also short and thick. The Sumo is similar in size but it is more refinely built with its curves and long lugs.

All these are my personal opinion of course. Bottom line its still your decision.

Some poison. Not the 007 but the 009.

Naz,
True enough the inadequacies you mentioned..Nah,why shud I get offended?

Date misalignment..so far as mentioned, hit and miss by Adrian. My previous blue and blk sumos so far has perfect alignment as they were the later batches.

Misaligned bezel marker...hey,happened to my Rolex GMT bought brand new as well.A quick 10min fix by the Rolex SC.

Skinny 20mm bracelet on a 44mm head.I got used to it.That is why its called sumo.Jap wrestlers have huge bodies and skinny legs;)

I'd go with the SKX007 :) The classical looks of it made me sticks to it. Though the movement might be too common, it has been time tested, and proven too. But again, it's up to personal taste. Buy what you like the most...but it's kinda hard thou because there are many of them to be liked :D As for me, I keep on buying and selling. End of the day, I bought back the SKX007 once sold not so long ago..haha

Thanks guys for all he comments and discussion.I do really appreciate it very much.
After spending loads of time thinking and researching here and there,I've decided to pull the trigger on the legendary SKX007,preferably the J version hehehe.
It is because of the traditional dive watch look of the SKX as compared to the hybrid look of the Spork, which is a bit confused and Sinnish,IMHO.
Maybe later I'll get the Spork if I'm looking another aviator watch ekekeke....FYI,I have a G-Shock aviator G1200B hehehe...

Thanks again...
