Nice GS 4522-8000 hand winding. Probably made between 1968-1970, seiko dani factory?

Joseph,
Gapnap can confirm, but I remember the watch is about 36mm, lug size is 18mm. I used to own the 4520(non-date version). And by the way it's Hi-Beat. Be careful when you wind because the tension can be rather high.

yup is Tuna in Japanese word, in mandarin pronounce as "wei", its like a Seiko tuna watch using seiko auto movement, MOD by yoboki with 150pcs limited :)

Hi Josh , I bought it from a reputable vintage shop in Osaka .
Like what Enkidu said , it is a 36mm .

Close up shots? I am not a pro photographer like you  ;D Just an iphone photo guy...
I don't think i can capture the details with it ..I can try though ROFL .

@Enkidu . Anything i should worry about ? Normally i wind it for about 20 rounds ..didn't bother to fully wind it .

Hi, gapnap,

You have a great watch, I truly regret divesting my GS 4520-8000 in 2008 and the GS Cal.6146-8000 in 2009. I would go easy on the winding. Once you feel there's sufficient resistance, it will be a good time to stop. I learnt this the hard way. My 4520-8000's mainspring snapped because I wound it up too much. Happened at the end of 2007 I think. Thong Sia said could not repair it (as usual, sigh!!). The technician sifu openly told me "this watch is meant for you to keep; it's not for daily wear anymore". So I sent it to the shop at Selangor Kompleks - the shop manned by 2 really bossy women  :D. The cost of repair (mainspring + changed the crown because the old crown was also worn + basis maintenance service) cost less than RM200 I remember, but the wait was pretty long because of the spare parts.

I am not sure if those old articles in the old SCWF (those uploaded at the time of Dr. Wayne Lee and Kevin Chan) are still accessible. You may wish to google and check. I recall there are some pretty good write ups and pics on the GS Hi-beat vintage (Cal.6145, 6146, 6159, 4520 and 4522).

Which shop in Osaka? Need to add more stomping grounds in Osaka other than the usual Shinsaibashi haunts.

Would love to have a look at the shop. Please PM me if possible. Thanks

If you go Jpn often why not bring it to Seiko Japan for repair?
But guess its too late now.

You must have mistaken me for Joseph or Danny who work for japanese companies. No, I don't go to Japan that often. I am not sure if those well known internet sellers in japan (you guys should know who they are) will be willing to help. But Thong Sia KL is a real disappointment. I am not sure about Thong Sia Singapore.

Thong sia KL  Wanted them to pressure test my seiko under warranty just to be safe and the answer i got from them is "please run under the tap water" :o

Alas Joseph, the new SCWF is just a shadow of its former glory!! Most of the old database pics are no longer around! Here are some close up fom the present scwf, scroll down to the end.......

One of the things to look out for when you buy a vintage GS is the alignment of the "SEIKO" word at the top of the dial. Make sure they are properly aligned, the letters are not crooked etc which is evidence the dial has been re-done!!!
