maybe I'm too snobbish for my own good...

My bad.......

FYI I used to crave/lust for the Breitling Aerospace Emergency with the huge antennae which was pulled out from the crown.....abt 20 yrs ago
but then again my tastes have changed so much over the last 20-30 yrs...also used to like Breitling Navitimers but now wonder why...Come to think of it I never ended up buying a single Breitling altho they were on my radar then..
I sometimes cringe at what I used to like... that shows the vast change over the years in my tastes..
but yes I agree that there are some iconic watches which have both digital/analog displays which are very attractive to look at not to mention having very useful & 'cool' features.....
bro,
altho digitals are not up my alley but this is 1 cool looking watch...
love the finish of the caseback..
Hahahaha I understand where you are coming from. I am not 'into' digital watches as well (except G-Shocks) but there are basically two digital or rather quartz watches that I would get for my collection. The first is the Omega X-33 (does not matter Gen 1 or 2) and the other is the Breitling Aerospace. To me these two watches are the icon quartz or digital watch of their time or any time, and I am pretty lucky to have both of them.
The other watch I am seriously considering is the Hamilton LED watch. It and the Pulsar were there LED watch of their time.
