Friday,
If you wanna know about when white gold markers were applied to the markers in Rolex, you need to be specific on the model - which one?
Let me just give you an example. For the GMT-Master, Rolex started using the white gold in the second version of its 3rd model, i.e. the ref. 16750 (which was released from 1981 to 1988). I'd reckon the change from the no-white gold markers to the white gold ones was made around 1986.
While for Submariner, the white gold was started to be used approximately in 1984 when model ref. 16800 was in production.
Manburg,
Thanks. Sorry fr not being specific..at 1st eyeing on the seadweller 16610 or the gmt II and even the ...heck any rolexes except for the daytona and yatchmaster

but then found out that all of them using Using aplied-gold dial figures/min&hour hands. Then its a no for me. So i was wondering n hoping as well..that there are other rolexes that i can buy that didnt use any gold..cause i need to buy me a rolex 1st so i can justify my future puchases

from other brand..cause i want my 1st "proper" watch to be a very very good one..imho rolex..
Thats why im askng u guys here...at d same time do some googling on it..this is what i found..
" The reference 16800 was introduced in 1977-78. The 16800 introduced caliber 3135 which introduced the quick-set date and a sapphire crystal. Also, the 16800 was now rated from 660 feet to 1000 feet. Sometime around 1985 or 86, white gold surrounds were added to the luminous hour markers. Toward the end of the production run of the 16800s, for only about nine months, Rolex produced a reference 168000 in which the quality of the stainless steel was upgraded from grade 316 to grade 904."
So im guessing this starts the using of applied-gold in all of their watches.
