Thanks, Mnazri,

I have recently bought a Seiko SNZG15k1.

I am looking for another affortable pilot style.

I come across Parnis, it seems like this company make quite a number of nice style watches, not sure reliable or not, any idea?

got myself a parnis from hkg dealer, looks good, heavy, but the built quality is not there. suggest you up your budget to RM1K range for some with better swiss movt.

parnis using asian movt i believe.

Hi Ken,

thanks for your valuable advice.
i suspect so due to the very low selling price, we get what we paid for.
my shortlist:
- Laco (online - after sales support?)
- Archimede (singapore - nearer support), malaysia also got, but damn expensive (WW# watch selling at sky high price, crazy)
- Stowa (online - after sales support)
- Steinhart (online - after sales support)

the price range of above brands is quite close, really hard to make decision.

all sifu, need your help, which brand should i go for?

many thanks in advance.

tkyong,

Most of the brands you listed above use common movement and most watch repair guys can service the movement. There is usually no issues with the case, dial and hands. Most of the service people can refurbish the case if there is a need. The straps? well, there are guys here selling nice looking straps and most good shops have replacement straps. So not much to worry.

As to which watch to buy, that is a call you have to make yourself. Buy the watch that sings out to you. You only have to satisfy yourself and no one else.

All the best with your hunt, and do post the photos of the watch you finally buy.

Comparatively, Stowa is premium  It is a beautiful watch with good household name, if you dont mind increasing your budget..

In addition, bear in mind that those who bought online last year when Euro was slightly below RM4/Euro would have got it at slightly lower price as compared to now.
