Does anyone owned this watch? would like to have some comment and what to look into when buying russian watch. thanks in advance

Sthurmanskie is a brand of the Volmax group which also includes Aviator and Buran. The most iconic model is Strela ( meaning "Arrow") which is a chronograph using the poljot 3133 caliber. This was the watch soviet cosmonauts used in space ( as opposed to Omega by the US). You can view the watches at the Russian watch AD at Tropicana/Pavillion.

thanks for info. actually i saw this watch at pavillion and i find it looks good and it's actually tempting me to bring one of them back home. that's why i'm seeking comment for seniors here ... any downside?

When Yuri Gagarin made that historic first space walk in 1961, he wore a Sturmanskie which was originally made by First Moscow Watch Factory. They later changed the company's name to Poljot (means "flight") after Gagarin's fame.

Don't be confused with the current Poljot watches - they're not made by the original Poljot as above. You can ask that girl in Pavillion (Shaena) and she will dutifullly vouch for that.

My Sturmanskie - Made in Russia - circa 1991/92 - caliber 3133 (which was actually based on Valjoux 7734):

I do not hv a sturmanskie but I do own 2 Aviators ( I posted pics in an earlier thread) which is also part of the Volmax group. Aviators also use poljot calibers but mine are manual wind models. For me Russian watches from Volmax offer good price/value with its own unique heritage,history and identity. I am happy with both n regularly wear them.

Thanks, but nope. It originally belonged to an official in the Russian Embassy in KL. I got it through a friend. Cheap and not as refined (aesthetically), but robust and durable.

Thanks for your info Manburg. But i'm still confuse. Anyway, shall get a time and look for the girl for help.
Anyway, nice watch u have, it looks classic chrono to me.

Ryan-while still new in Msia,Russian watches do hv a following worldwide. Google n read,WUS the int. watch forum has a dedicated and actve section on them.

Hi, new in MWF and have been into watches for a good 15 years now

Just wanted to say I have one of these Russian watches and its been good. Even the strap is really nice IMHO

I have researched some of the Russian watches, but most of them are using the Chinese made movement, or rather China made Russian watches, especially those selling on the net. So just be-careful

Cool, transparent case, what is the movement? I have seen some russian watches with "Made in Russia" English word at the bottom of "6"

? 2609-3705124). Very high quality compared to brand compared to another Russian brand that i tried like CCCP and Russian Time/ Ruskaya Vremya. I even love the guide which have picture of the Russian Cosmonaut.

Whats meant by Gagarin reissued? Very confusing. Is it exact watch worn by yuri gagarin which been reproduced or is it they make new model to celebrate him as first man to space?
