W2 Waterwall 500M This is one funny watch
« on: April 27, 2011, 12:26:00 PM »
I found this brand name on another forum and here's how it goes:

Your Opinion and/or Advice on this *GERMAN* Diver >>> *W2 Automatik UHRWERK 7780*<<< ???
Hello,

Is anyone familiar with this "PRO-500m." Diver?

I am in the market for a good reliable diver...but with my limited budget, most of the good divers (in the $100-$250 range) that are popular with *WUS* members/and collectors are - - the Seiko Monsters, Orient Blue Makos, Bernhardt Seasharks, Vostok Russian divers, etc. etc.

Aside from the ones mentioned above, I am also considering entry-level German divers...is any one familiar with the *W2* diver? (((SEE BELOW)))

Also, would welcome any suggestions where or which website or eBAY seller that are currently selling these *W2's* and other similar divers.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions and feedback.:thanks
(((Sorry for the product descrtiption...it's faded//not legible...I just copied-and-paste from the seller's website)))

Then there were members started contributing to this topic:

"Do not know what the 7780 movement is, it might be a chinese clone of the 7750.

There has been a three hand W2 Seacup (a diver's watch too, submariner clone) which has been fitted with a Miyota automatic movement back in 2008 and sold by Watchunion. Watchunion at those times had the same address, phone number as Schaumburg. "

" I too was enamored with it on ebay and bought one and experienced a problem right off with the crown and retunred it much to the sellers dismay...

Great looking but not a buy!"

"I will be attempting to return to original seller on ebay. I just timed this beast and it is losing over 5 minutes a day (unacceptable for a brand new watch). I can't in good conscience resell it. Plus, the chronograph is acting funny when being reset, and the hands kind of stick in place before jumping to zero..."

And I decided to buy one, cause I really curious to find out how this "W2" is..

I've changed the rubber band to a Panerai 24MM Reddish Brown Strap.

7 days down the road, here's what i think

Accuracy: right down to the minute
Build Quality: this one, built like a tank for the price
ETA 7750: Reset all seems to be normal

This is the first time ever I bought some unknown cause I am really puzzle by this watch and want to find out what am I missing here... it looks exactly like a Nauticfish, if i t's a fake, I'd say wow, well worth the price and thanks for the 7750.....

So is it a fake?

another german brand but with asian movement. Google up the movement and you'll realise valjoux does not make the 7780.
Your ONLY job in this world is to make sure that you are happy

Any ETA stamp on the plate? Otherwise it would be a Chinese clone.

I believe the Nauticfish comes with the Sellita version of the 7750, SW500.
The W2 could have the same movement.

The China 7750 and the ETA 7750, even though look identical, the mounting is slightly different.

That's why I cannot figure out what's with this W2 ....

vs

99% same, only brand different....

nauticfish watches made by shaumburg, germany for US market....
swiss movement + china case and other parts + german assembling = german made

so this 7780 movement its likely purposely named by w2 for to lead u to think of 7750...
from the photo, it look like the china made 7750

so it is a cheaper version of nauticfish waterfall
just like earlier we hv shaumburg and enzo mecha have the 1000 dive watches....
later u see another few brands fitted it with miyolta to sell cheaper
but those copycat come with dial, hands, crown.... variance....

this 1 only brand different
