Erm... keep all the knives and hand saws?  ;)
Seriously, how deep is the ding? If deep, I think can't DIY.
If superficial or not that terrible, quickly go to ur nearest jeweller and get it polished.
All the best bro... hell hath no fury like a woman who's watch is scorned...  ;D

my solution....leave it as it is and get her a new watch

might be a bit more ex but atleast it would not polish off too much of the case

Married men will understand....
A lighter wallet is a reasonable sacrifice for brownie points as these points will go a looooooooong way if you know what I mean...  ;D

apply management strategy here...don't show her the watch but tell her it's a massive damage on the watch and how foolish u are and how u cannot forgive urself, etc etc (if you can let loose some tears then all the better). this will prepare her for the worst case scenario.

keep blaming urself (slap urself on the face a few times to add more drama and realism) until she calms u down and tell u it's ok or she won't be mad at u

then show her the watch and she will be glad it's just a small ding
