Author Topic: Torn between a PAM359 and Omega PO Liquidmetal! (Read 32244 times)

Hi Everyone,

I'm new here and need some advice from any of you that have been contributing to this forum so please bear with me. I've been following this forum passively for a while now but have never contributed until now. I've recently decided that it's time for me to get a new watch. Need some advice from anyone here regarding my next purchase. I started my hunt for a new watch begining with the IWC Pilot Chrono which I have been eyeing for a while now. It's a lovely classic piece but the only problem I had with it is that it uses ETA movement which is quite a turn off considering what I had to pay for it, more so with the ceramic Top Gun model. Also, I realized that I'm actually more into dive watches and 60 meter on the IWC is just not gonna do it for me. So, I've turned my attention to either the Omega Liquid Metal and the new Sub with ceramic bazel. To be honest, the sub is a little out of my budget and I also have my reservations about it being a Rolex as I don't want to attract any unnecessary negative attentions, if you get what I mean. Furthermore, I already have a Rolex, nothing fancy but it works. So, my quest continued until I stumbled upon the PAM359 and I think I've finally found it!!! It has it's own in house movement, I love the design and to top it, it has a clear back which shows the movements! Something not very common considering the fact that this watch is also 300 meter water resistant. Then again, it seems like nothing is perfect as I do have issues with the size of PAMs overall. I'm not sure if the 44mm works well with my small 6 inch wrist? To cut the long story short, I'm basically torn between the Omega PO Liquid Metal 42mm which fits great on my wrist and the PAM 359 which is more appealing to me. FYI, I've tried both watches at the local AD/boutique and am still undecided. To be honest, my heart is telling me to go with the PAM....which one do you think I should I go for

The 359 is a beautiful piece. My vote goes to the PAM..

cant afford for sub ceramic but can afford for pam 359....

The PAM is already a bit of a stretch for me but it's manageable but I'd have to stretch more with the Sub. Furthermore, I'm more attracted to the PAM

bro, isnt the list price of pam 359 at low 23k and sub-c at high 23k? Pam can still get discount, sub-c a bit more difficult to get discount, if its still not at premium pricing in malaysia....

nope, the price I got for PAM is a little below [no price discussion allow], so far the best Price I got for Sub C is above [no price discussion allow] and no discount!! Unless you know somewhere with better deals, do let me know. And like I said, the price of PAM already a stretch and I think I have to put a stop to how much I'm willing to spend. I can't keep trying to convince myself that I can get .....for a little bit more, it will never end cos there's always something better for a little bit more. So I've decided to cap it at around 20K range and no more....

hi i think you may also like to try on PAM312. i think the price is the same.... only the dial is different . for me i try both , and i like 312.no harm trying both. all the best in your PAM......

Thanks for the PAM312 suggestion. I'm definitely considering that too but the dials on the 359 does look better to me though. It has the vintage luminova look to it. Will try them both regardless. Cheers!

I was also looking at the Liquid Metal PO b4 the PAM virus struck me. I'll definitely choose the PAM over the LM PO. Well, just to let you know that the case for the 359 is polished while the 312 is brushed.

honestly i would steer clear of the P9000 cal.

does not really fancy paying so much for a watch that changes date at 10pm

how hard is it to do a quick set anyway? think OP is taking the easy way out on this.

Hi Terrence, thanks for your opinion about the date change. I'm aware of it and to be honest, it doesn't really bother me and I probably won't even notice the change since I tend to knock out before 10pm everyday especially when I have two young kids at home draining all my energy. In fact, I think the date change kindda adds a little character to the PAM

Wow first time hearing someone say this adds character haha.
I think you are all set, what the forum can do is help yo decide base on technical specs, user opinions after owning it and you can make an informed decision whether to buy it or not.
Heck...some people might even sat its crap and not worth to buy, but at the end of the day that watch sings to you, damn everyone else cause you smile everytime you see it on your wrist.
