To Service at Patek AD or reputable watchmaker instead?
« on: January 06, 2025, 01:50:07 PM »
Hi All,
Recently purchased an Aquanaut 5167a and got it authenticated at a dealer. However they mentioned that there’s some issue with the water resistance and advised to replaced the gaskets.
Question is, are there any reputable watchmakers that is able to fix this, or should I just bite the bullet and send it to Patek, which will be costly and time consuming?

assuming you bought it grey market, I would have expected it was tested and checked before sale..

but if not, since you've already paid so much for it, shouldn't you spend that little more to make sure it's watertight before you get water damage?
