1st of all, welcome to the forum.
Regarding your question, I give you my 2sen...
The Tag that you mention I have not seen it and I'm guessing the retail is between 7-8k?
And it's a quartz. Go for it if your lady fancy it.
But if you look at ladies models frm Mido and Epos or even Tissot... automatic models with diamonds and a mother of pearl dial will cost half of the Tag... or maybe just a fraction of the Tag.
Leave yourself some extra dough for a fancy dinner perhaps?
I myself bought a Mido Belluna Automatic for my wife last year.
Mido M001.230.11.111.01 (I bought this)
Tissot T050.207.16.116.00 (Might buy this for her next)
Epos ref:4314 OH (Or this)

thanks hanz079.

it's going for 6k. there's an automatic version but it's a hassle as i won't be wearing it daily unless i get a watch winder. the mido belluna automatic looks good. :)

i have very little experience and knowledge on watches. i just go by how i feel when i look and hold the watch...

My wife is happy when I got her the Mido.
But if your lady have alot of watches to rotate, then maybe a quartz is the way to go.
And I tend to feel that girls rather wear fashion watches.
This watch to go with this dress or that watch to go with that dress...  :HammerHead:
There is no one watch to satisfy a lady... maybe only a Rolex will do...  :Laughing_on_floor:

Just a story to share.
The other night, I was watching TV with my wife and there's an Ad featuring Nicole Kidman flashing the Omega Ladymatic.
My wife was like "Wow, dear... I would love to own that one day"
The next day, being the idiot that I am, called up the Omega boutique to ask on the price.
The exact one that Nicole Kidman is wearing retails at an astonishing rm105k!!!
Even the most lower end one with Stainless steel no diamonds leather strap one is rm25k.
Went home and told my wife "Dream on dear"
Got the silent treatment for a week...  :Laughing_on_floor:

Bought it for my fiancee a month ago. Before that we looked at Omega, Mido, Baume et Mercier, and a few other brands and models. So, it finally boiled down to (in no particular order) 1) aesthetics - white mother of pearl face + 2-tone stainless steel is easy to pair with any attire 2) size - anything less than 33mm would be the ideal dress+casual watch combo and 3) the number of blings.

At 27mm, the Carrera is just nice without being too flashy. The diamond at 3 o'clock is smaller than the rest. And they all come with a certificate.

I would have gone for the automatic, but the boutique didn't have it that time.

Same reason why the fiancee didn't fancy the constellation... she said it's ugly.

Actually I believe the majority of watchbuyers go by feel... that's why the market is big.
If most buyers are WIS... then only technically superior brands will survive.
That Nicole Kidman ad is POISONOUS!!! Since now I know my wife is not the only one... hahaha
The thing is, she knows nothing about watches... it so happens that it uses a Co-axial 8520 movement and the price is high.
Wouldn't it be better if Omega release the same model with quartz movement and retail it at less than 10k?
Me happy, my wife happy... Omega oso happy mah.  :Dancing_banana:
And during my HK trip, I got to visit the Omega Boutique there and the Ladymatic is all sold out.
No discounts and the Mainland Chinese sapu like its a toy or something...

Last year I thought of getting the Tag F1 ladies for my wifey... but eventually upped the budget slightly and got the omega ladies constellation with diamonds instead!!! Dial size 27mm, quartz with very nice dial IMO.

i bought the tag heuer a few mths back. guess i took too long to update.

next target, going for a rectangular watch. any recommendations? set my eyes on a baumer & mercier but can't seem to find the pic online. the diamond are horizontal lined instead of the usual vertical.

few months backs needed to buy something to celebrate 15th yrs of marriage
it has to be a pair, meaningful....only solution is pair of watches..
the missus is a non wis but she can identify with branding.....
a pair of Omega will be expensive and i know she wont approve of it....we r saving $ for another project...
a pair of Seiko, Oris, Tissot doesnt seemed `right' for this occasion....

i knew it has to be a pair of Tag....branding etc and i was looking for a decent quartz as a daily beater to compliment my U1...

then..the LVMH online sale saved me.....order from US, got a pair of F1, almost 60 % discount! they sent to a friend living there and she Fedex-ed it back to Malaysia...no problem...

when  bought it to local Tag AD to resize...they asked where i purchased...when i told them the pricing....they said they've never seen such good deal.... :Dancing_banana:

yeah..its a quartz, probably over priced due to brand name and advertising..but after the huge discount......soften the blow a bit...

wife was really happy...a pair of watches.....same brand..and Tags

shot taken ...but i was wearing my U1 that day...as it was on the beach.... ;D
