Between 5-10 watches is my ideal size. To me, I must say some are purpose driven (eg.
Golf, swimming, hiking), some are on occasion / matching with certain outfits (dress, vintage, etc), and some are the daily rotation ones

Am at 1 right now but ideally would like to build towards 3-5.
Daily beater, sports, dress, complication, and 1 grail.

I currently have 5, and rotate them all... Got 2 more on the way...each means something different, and gives a unique feeling.

I think if you but then, wear them. If you don't, then sell them. Won't feel bad because not wearing anyways.

It's easy to think that if you don't really wear a watch, then it's time to sell. But I have a 4-5 that I hardly ever wear, yet find it very hard to let them go.

My opinion is
1. Dress watch for work and date night
2. Robust watch for outdoor activities
3. Waterproof watch (minimum 200m) for water activities
4. Travel watch (GMT or worldtimer)
5. Holy Grail / untouchable watch for getting your watch-gasm
