For the technology, Tissot is good brand to grow your love of watches. Same can be said for Seiko. Unfortunately, the pricing model used on the brand is making it becoming more of a premium franchise. The pricing no longer makes it a level entry purchase of old.IMHO, the best bet to start someone on the road of a watch junkie would be the Seiko franchise....

For beginners, tissot is a double tumbsup watch. Make sure the watch is screw down crown type.

If you are looking for a quartz watch Tissot is a good start. If you looking for an Automatic, for the price I would suggest to top up a lil bit more for Longines.
Tissot's recently have a number of good design products with their new 80 hours power calibre. It's value for money.
