Dear all seniors and sifus, need your kind assist and views on below matter:

For the past few month, I did some study (sambil2 wfh) on the watches that intrigued me the most..the dive watch. I’ve listed top 3 in my list that within my budget and my observations as per below:

1. Seiko spb143j1 - I love the design..the size, everything was fit just fine and checks all my boxes of requirements. The history behind is superb. The major highlights is the movement which is seiko using the 6R35 which is only have 21600 vbh.

2. Oris aquis date - I gonna choose the smaller size 40mm and the dial + sunburst was so fine. Swiss engine Sellita-200 with 28800 vbh was nice. Just in overall it look a bit chunky on hand and the strap is a major problem (later for strap game susah)

3. Steinhart GMT 500m - 39mm, homage watch with swiss movement based on ETA-2893 with 28800 vbh. Plus point it have the GMT and price like almost half reduce compare to seiko n oris. Haha

In my opinion, seiko should make the 62MAS atleast include the movement with 28800 vbh. Such a reputable version and long waited but the movement was a bit disappointed.

I really torn up between this 3 choices..help me sifus to guide me to the correct path. Haha

I will choose either Seiko or Oris.

Note: if you really don't mind pre-owned piece. Tudor would be a good choice too.

I would definitely pick Seiko. I don't think you will miss much from the lower movement beat at 21600vph. But that is just me having collected other watches as well. For a beginner, a Swiss brand is definitely the best start. You get that nice feeling associated with wearing a watch with mass appeal. So unless you got other watches already, go with Oris if you are new to the hobby.

While I don’t own the 143, I do have the 149. And for me, the watch dimensions are a winner. Case size and proportions are perfect, or as close to perfect as it gets. This watch goes with every kind of strap that I throw it on. The OEM steel, tropic, waffle, NATO...you name it.

This watch has been on my wrist 28 days a month since I got it. I love it. It is comfortable, just the right size. And really goes with everything that I wear. From shorts and T shirts. To jeans, to shirt and tie...

The blue on this particular dial is really mesmerising and I can never get tired of it

And under different lighting conditions, it will have a different hue

I love it so much that I got 2 of them, one for me and another for my better half

In any event, whether if it is the 143, 147 or 149...you will not regret getting it as it is as perfect as it gets. Seiko really hit the ball out of the ballpark with this watch...
I hope that the pics that you saw did justice to the watch...

Noted sir. I already have a Ball night train DLC and Seiko presage too. Currently I just fall in love with the diver watch and Seiko seems to be the right choice. Hehe thanks!

I seems to be agree with u sir. The perfect size and the strap game really strong with this one. Previously the main reason that make me contemplating either to proceed or not..just based on the movement. I really love the hand sweep from the 28800 vbh (not as smooth as a spring drive) either from ETA or 6R27 from seiko. By looking at your picture sir..It’s really make me want to order it right away. Haha. Thanks!

I've been a Valixxx sales event, its brand new Tudor black bay non-date with leather strap only sells at RM 7300. But it's ETA movement, not an in-house.

Enjoy your watch hunting

For me, it's the Seiko definitely

The Oris Aquis is also a nice watch, but I've always felt they are a little overpriced, given that they are using Sellita movements

Today I saw in Facebook that someone is selling Tudor Chrono for about rm11k. Just wondering is it the reasonable price for tudor or not? I tot the price is way below the market price..and it’s a ew unit some-more

Wait for others to give their views.

To me, this isn't one of the more popular Tudor models so discount is more. If you think it's worth 11k to you then go for it.

Am going to echo what bro dpkong said. This model isn't one of the most popular and RM11k may just be the asking price. Having said that, if you love it; go for it. I think that the "feel good" factor from the watch is more important than what someone on the internet can tell you.
