Hi,

With a heavy heart, I am letting go this rare piece as funds are needed elsewhere. Excellent conditions for both watch and strap (conservatively 9/10).

Watch was bought in 2015 and worn occasionally, safe queen most of the time. Never been polished, no ding or dent anywhere on the case/bezel/crystal. Only light hairline swirls on some areas of the backcase and deployant buckle due to wear. Watch is flawless, runs perfect with an impressive accuracy of +1 to +2 seconds a day with power reserve on full wound goes for more than 120 hours (5 days).

Blancpain brand is the oldest surviving watchmaking brand in the world, produce approximately 20000 watches yearly. It's definitely a step up from Rolex, in the realm of Audemars Piguet but with richer history. Fifty Fathoms is regarded as the world's first commercially available modern dive watch, beating Submariner to the market.

Despite its  45mm case, it is very wearable due to its short lug to lug measurement of only 50.6mm. It wears like Rolex Submariner Ceramic (which is 50.53mm lug to lug). Every Fifty Fathoms watches are hand made and hand finished. The bezel is made of domed sapphire and is fully lumed. It is powered by the beautiful caliber 1315 that churns out 5 days of power reserve, cased in an antimagnetic case.

This Fifty Fathoms model for sale comes with blue flinque dial that has a beautiful texture in the center and a great shimmer. To my best knowledge, it has been discontinued. Flinque dials are hand engraved with a graver or rose-engine and the final result is a dial with intersecting straight or wavy lines that flow to the center. It is so mesmerizing and satisfying to look at. Another distinctive feature of this model is the satin-brushed finish on the stainless steel case, making it more rugged. The durable and waterproof blue sailcloth strap is fitted on with a signed double deployant clasp.

The serial number of this watch is 222 (signalling the super low production numbers). Selling in full complete set that includes

- Outer box
- Blancpain Pelican case
- Sailcloth watch case
- Brand new original Blancpain Fifty Fathoms rubber strap
- Instruction/Technical/Service manual
- International waranty card (expired)
- Unused Blancpain cleaning cloth

Here is the link to The Naked Watchmaker on deconstructing Fifty Fathoms. In his words, "The construction of the case including bezel and winding crown is synonymous with one of the strongest available on the market today. The extended power reserve on the movement differentiates this diver's watch from others. The readability of the dial and the bezel both with Super-LumiNova detail is another element that defines this piece. Although quality is a subjective point of view, amongst all of the diver's watches I have handled, this one, combined with its faraday-like cage, distinguishes itself."

Asking a reasonable price of RM 35 000 (RRP for new watch is RM 53 200 with minimal discount). Watch is 100% genuine, I am just a private watch collector and not a reseller. For reference, you can refer to my previous sales posts/good guys recommendation.

Online transfer during F2F deal is preferred. I am based in Nilai, other KL areas can be arranged too. Please do not hesitate to whatsapp/call/sms me at 0168558894 if you're interested.

My take:
Putting things in perspective, a mass produced No Date Sub C year 2015 will demand the same asking price. I used to own a Sub C, and in my humble opinion, Fifty Fathoms will always be my choice of the pair (better brand value proposition, impeccable hand made inside and outside and attention to detail finishing). Its a true dive watch enthusiast's watch.

Thank you for reading my long sale post and have a great day ahead, stay safe always.

Pictures below of the real watch. Pictures doesn't do it justice thus a stock picture (last on display) from Blancpain website is included for your reference. Lume on this watch is totally out of this world. No other watches came close, period! You can whatsapp me for more pictures.
