I have to admit that I was initially surprised to see Damasko in the top 5 list. However if you really consider the quality of the Damasko watches then you'll realize that Damasko have every right to be amongst the top 5 affordable watch brands in Malaysia.

Damasko sure is one tough fella!
Value for value i think Ball is also comparable to it.

Thanks for raising this issue. Actually Orient did make the list with a single vote. After reading your comment I checked the chart and realized that the brand list was truncated.
I have uploaded a new chart reflecting the full brand list and you can now see that Orient did make the list.

I agree with you that Orient make fine and affordable timepieces. However Orient's brand awareness in Malaysia may not be up there with the other more established players such as Seiko, Casio, Ball and Oris who spend big bucks on brand promotion. Even compared to the lesser known brands such as Enzo and Defakto etc, Orient do not have the kind of internet marketing savvy required to raise the brand profile online.
IMHO more needs to be done to promote the Orient brand in Malaysia.

Anyway you'll get a chance to cast your vote for Orient in the 2011 survey.

Since there's only 1 photo on this thread, I'm guessing he's referring to the Damasko?

The original survey consisted of many more brands. However only brands which actually received votes were included in the results.

Wow, I am surprise, cause every time visit those shop, they always promote Tag, and say if you buy this watch is like buying a Toyota or Honda, you wont go wrong...but looking at the survey, seem otherwise. Does this survey capture the age group of the voters???

If the survey is done in LYN, I'm sure plenty of fashion brands will be in...
My guess is erm.... Guess will be pretty high up there. ;D

hi all i'm new here. i was quite impressed by the survey result, it has also changed my perception on some brands and it is interesting to see brands like damasko being in the top 5. honestly i have yet to be exposed to that brand. but like other forummers i dont get it how come tag heuer didn't even get any where near either luxury or value survey how come ah? is the quality of their watches deteriorating?

Interesting that Tag didn't make the list, though I'm not too fond of it myself, personally feel it's very young and too common (but then again, I'm wearing Seiko, lagi common, haha).

Beginning to love the design of the Damasko, was drooling over their website earlier, lume seems nice too, though I'm not sure how good the performance of the lume is in real world.
