Watch appraisal
« on: August 28, 2018, 09:24:32 PM »
hi MWF sifus,

Interesting to know whether anyone has ever just walk into some 2nd watch hand shop and ask them to appraise your watch? I know you can make some reference online like Chrono24 etc. but sometimes the valuation also depend on the conditions which can be subjective.

Do share your experience if any. Thanks!

Had my experience with Wing Wah (not so good experience), one of the staff wasn't very friendly and gave me the 'look' like I was desperate for money, then offered me a very low price (kinda take it or leave it)...

From then on, never walked into that shop anymore

That is not very nice. Technically, they need to source watch to sell and make their margin. Seller is as much of a revenue source as the buyer....

Very true... well, that lady might just be a bad apple in the basket, nevertheless it has left a bad taste in my mouth

Don't judge others by the "looks" they give you - it's often our own assumption. I am always friendly to the lovely WW ladies and they to me too  ;)

Low prices are pretty subjective, depending on brand, resale value, demand etc.  Remember that these shops take all the risks.

I think Chrono24 offering a “not bad” price. But I don’t like that need to pay before selling. And if u sold the way through other Channel, the deposit is non. Refundable
