Looks good
Being in the Portofino range, hopefully it will be significantly cheaper than the IWC Port 7 days.

You are very hopeful :)

I was in AD last week. A discounted SS Big Pilot is about the same price as the new SS Portuguese Yacht Club chronograph (no % given).

I think because it is new and they might wanna push IWC higher with the new models.

I probably can ask for discounts if I really wanna buy...

Check out the Portofino 8 days on the IWC website:
http://www.iwc.com/collection/portofino/IW5101/

I'm really into the the SS black dial version. Love the contrast between the red and black. Size is 45mm! Didn't expect that from a dress watch.
RRP EUR8,400. Yikes!

The dial design is 99% the same except for the date.

eberhard 8days was launched in 1997....
read hear

"The Eberhard "8 Days" Collection, launched in 1997, comprises manually wound mechanical watches. Because of the addition of a second mainspring, these timepieces require winding only once every eight days. The overlapping springs measure 1.5 meters in length versus the standard 30cm."

wow 1.5m vs 30cm? that's crazy.
never had a 8day watch. my current pams require winding nearly every day, it's ok most of the time, just sometimes i forgot to wind and i end up wondering what time it is :)

Yea. Agree with you. After all looking at the brand, Eberhard are famous for their chrono 4. For a while the thought of an '8 days power reserve' for a fraction of the price of an IWC made me weak in the knees. Went to look at it more than 4 times but each time walk away empty handed. Maybe if the price came down a bit more....

@dsiewmy if we really bought watches just for checking the time that might be a problem.. the thing is we are all more or less retarded n dont buy watches to actually just check time.. we're all a bunch of nerds loving the craftmanship (and maybe a lill bit of prestige among fellow nerds:) )I feel naked without a watch but i can always check the time in the car on the compy or the mobile hehe.. but that will never make up for the satisfaction of looking down on my wrist n c a thing i really love :D
