I believe only a WIS will pay attention to the brand or model of watches other people wear. And for a WIS, he should understand very well that ones need to sacrifice many other things for that watch.

I consider I met a good boss. In fact,  One of my boss ( ED from holding co.) push me to buy my 1st Rolex. Told her ( yes, is HER) is expensive, not enough fund, bla bla bla ..... She convinced me to start with an Explorer 1 ( at that point, thinking to get a B&R).

Still remember what she told me ..... No watch is bad watch, as long as u like it. But Try to get a proper watch, and u will start open up your eyes to a lot of thing. And you will also have diff point of view on "valuation". Take it as a saving, rather than spending money on your night life , bla Bla bla...

Not saying that B&R is not good, I am still eyeing a lot on pre owned mkt.... Just that , Now I am working my Axx off for my 1st AP...

I mean is not so much about what your boss is wearing, is about what your boss is thinking .....

If your job comes with certain "authority", you shouldn't wear something too flashy I think lol.

My expat boss used to wear a Panerai when he started his term here but later on, I noticed that he changed to a Seiko only and never saw that Panerai anymore. He still wears a Carrera Calibre 1887 with a leather strap every now & then, and that Seiko.
Never dared to ask him, maybe he got robbed or something like that...expats when new to our country...

I am the boss. So this kinda 'reverse' opinion la.. 3 of staff wears this Titus brands,  they bought together.  Each cost abt 1k+-. As for me, i put on my Grand Seiko most of the time.  They thinks its juz another Seiko. Not to undermind other Seiko watches (Seiko 5 and the divers are exceptionally well valued), but GS tends to be an understatement which suits me well. I can wear 15k watch with less fear of kena robbed than my Rollies frens. Only use Rollies/JLC for meetings.

That's kinda interesting, 3 of your staffs bought watches together? Is that a pledge by them for completing a project or some pact?

Actually yes! my boss is so stingy to buy a good watch so he's only wear a GC watch. I have a Frederique Constant automatic for my everyday watch

Had same experience. 'Just pull the trigger on ##### (without undermining any other brand - just citing the conversation)', he said. Since then, i never look back and seems hard not to pull the trigger pulak now.

Another thing he said, watch is a therapy for him (and same goes for me too). When you are having a rough day, just look at the dial, the beauty of it, the details, the second hand sweeping. Enough to make a WIS feels better to conquer the world.

My boss don't really mind what I'm wearing I guess, she wears a Fossil chrono and I rock my Longines and Seiko to work most of the time.

Lately, she even came and ask for opinion on which watch to get next haha

My boss and me are WUS - everyone in the office thinks we're alike, even though we have a ... tumultuous relationship. Anyways he wears a Panerai, a Deepsea Dweller and a G-Shock...those are the only ones I see him wear. I on the other hand have 13 watches including 2 pocket watches - he has been interested in all of them, and he recently praised me for getting my latest - the Longines Heritage. I bet he must be wondering how do I get the money to buy so many watches, considering I just started working last year. :P
