Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra or Seamaster Planet Ocean
« on: August 15, 2017, 12:38:05 AM »

Which one would you guys recommend for a daily? The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Master Co-Axial 41.5mm (left) or the Seamaster Planet Ocean 600m 42mm? They are both around the same price, use the same 8500 movement and both look great... to me lah  :P I'm having a hard time deciding on which to get as something that I would be able to wear daily.

Each one has its own unique appeal: The Planet Ocean is a diver's watch with that gorgeous ceramic dive bezel, while the dial of the Aqua Terra has the teak pattern and is a beautiful shade of blue and also a bit understated compared to the PO.

I would humbly say that the PO would be more versatile as a daily.

I would prefer an aquaterra which is I think more versatile for daily wear cos is not to thick n the design is suitable for use with office wear and casual. Aquaterra is at a good size of 41mm vs PO big size at 43/45mm (and 39mm is too small for this design).

And the variety of colour n strap options add to the versatility of the aquaterra. And the new AT golf come in 2 design with vertical deck design.

PO is thicker n sportier design ; more for casual wear. And because of its thickness n weight , some people may not feel comfortable.

Note: I used to own both PO & AT.

I have the Aqua Terra 38.5mm with co-axial 8500. I like it a lot for work but find it not suitable for week ends and holidays. As part of a rotation it is fine but I find it does not work in all situations.

Hi, how come You don't put in the Speedmaster  Moonwatch 1861 as Your choice ? Come with steel bracelet & 2 NATO Straps & Big box !

AT looks like a hybrid of PO and Constellation to me.

I will either choose PO or Constellation.

If choices are limited only to PO and AT.

I will choose PO then.

Would you say the blue dial ver of the AT that I favor (in pic) would look good with different color straps? Thanks for the informative feedback. Yes, the thickness of the PO is a concern, as my wrist is quite small....

Nice Speedy! It looks great with the strap. Hmm I chose these Seamasters because I love the movement and also the look of the watches; they speak to me more than a Speedy at the moment.... maybe in the future I will consider one. I love the Speedy's with the 9300 movement but they are out of my budget  :-[

Love this 007 special edition PO! Yeah I've looked at countless review videos and am leaning more towards the PO at the moment, I do agree with some of the members here that the AT doesn't really work for all situations... and am a bit worried that I may grow bored looking at it as I'll only have this in my rotation  :'(

Check out Omega Malaysia website , the new version of the omega blue..

Depends on your occupation , get the AT in stainless steel bracelet, and later you can swap it with leather , nato , rubber .. you won't get bored with it.. is a comfortable watch for daily wear..
With PO, may not be easy to find OEM straps .. I believe the strap size is odd sizes n the curved design. (I may be wrong)

Other than the 43.5 case size which has lug size of 21mm
The other which is 42 and 45 case is just common lug size and you could source  the after market strap easily

Wow the new ATs look so nice.... do you have the link to the website? If I search on the Omega site they don't turn up yet, only can see the ATs with the date window at 3 o'clock and vertical teak lines. Want to find out the reference number  :D

Hmm I guess with either one, getting straps won't be a problem. I prefer straps other than the steel bracelet... but I recently found out that the PO with the rubber strap and deployment clasp (232.32.42.21.01.003) is no longer available and is discontinued. Gosh. I might have no choice but to go with an AT....  :-\

A little off topic here, but has anyone had any experience dealing with Collectors Time? Will be viewing one of these from them this weekend.

Get the planet ocean. Very versatile wear for me although I am a desk diver. I wear it with sandals at the beach or slacks in the office. Of course my work place has a thing for bling watches

I made a decision and went with the Planet Ocean. I'm really happy with it so far; just got it this afternoon. Will post more pics in the future.

Thank you everyone for contributing your opinions.. I really appreciate it. Perhaps in the future I'll add an Aqua Terra to my collection. But at the moment, I'll start admiring my PO.

Both are excellent watches. I have the Aqua Terra golf edition. Use as my daily watch and couple of swims during weekends. The PO is more sporty and much thicker.
