Rolex Yatchmaster: Blue dial or Grey dial
« on: March 31, 2017, 11:52:21 AM »
I am in a dilemma for the Rolex Yatchmaster. Not sure to get a blue dial or the grey dial.

Blue dial is really nice with the RubberB strap, anyone knows where to get this in Malaysia?

What would you guys go for since the price is the same?

PS: If the blue dial comes with blue/silver hand would be better than red. It feels more harmony.

Are you a Chinese speaking member?

What I understand from the Rolex Chinaman that they don't go for Blue and White Rolex.

White in Cantonese is Pak. Rollie in Cantonese is pronounced as Lo. So the word Pak Lo in Cantonese means Venture into a business will end up just working and no return.

Blue in Cantonese is Lam or Lan (Mandarin) . When the word combined is Lan Lo. In Cantonese this means difficult to survive in a business.

So this is the thinking of the China man who wears the Rolex.

I know Cantonese but I owned a White dial Datejust. Well I interpret it differently. Its all in the mind.

Yeah! Now this is new to me, never thought of this.
Anyway i am more towards a blue one but everyone around is more to grey dial so i have hard time choosing because i liked both.

I have seen many grey in the wild. But only once I saw a blue. So i guess blue is more unique. The grey by itself is beautiful but compared to blue the grey is boring

Just wondering if the value of Yachtmaster is still low, ie no resell value? or recently it has increased?

I would also vote for blue as it is more striking. Its a beautiful watch and one that is under appreciated.

Exactly, Yacht is definitely a beautiful watch but i heard the second hand value is low because many claimed the function is much lesser. No offense but i feel it is more attractive and uncommon than Batman.

I guess there is a price difference between blue & grey if I am not mistaken. Hard to resist. Both are equally charm. A little more towards blue as my personal preference.
