1) to buy a pre owned or brand new? if price difference are so minimum. Take some Rolex models as example.
2) where are the reliable shops to buy Rubber B strap? any other brand and what are the price range ?
3) how to judge if a watch is genuine? what are the basic reference from the appearance of a watch ?

Certain brand old model preowned piece got very reasonable low price. Especially for those expensive brand high end watch, their old model preowned still very good quality in term of finishing and performance.

To buy a pre owned or brand new is a matter of preference,there's no good or bad about either one.

Again,the "minimum" price also differs from one person to the next. Eg. a savings of rm3000 is a lot for a person who saves just enough to buy his watch versus a person who has a few Rolexes,who would probably buy a new one rather than to save a "measly" 3k 

Only certain Rolex models commands a higher pre owned prices,not all across the board.

As for genuine watch or not, based on what we have today, some number of counterfeit watch does looks like genuine from appearance, probably need to check internal to find it out.

AD always claims no stock & long waiting list such as Rolex GMT, Green Submariner & Daytona Ceramic. Some Pre-owned shop has ready new stock & sell premium. Any differences to buy from non-AD as the warranty are international covered ?

Ya true. But some does not accompany with Cert and box as well. This is the concern..

true. Always buy from reliable source to avoid this problem.

As far as I know the European does not sell premium asides from UK. But again, always no stock. Chinese tourist buy in bulk :-)

My advice is to buy brand new from AD if you really don't have much experience in seeing the difference between in fakes and genuine. Different watches have different signs to look out for. Some the fakes are very well made that it may even fool experts.

If you're planning to get the Rolex sport models, you just gotta wait. Go as many ADs as you can and tell them you have ready cash to buy, premium or not. Sooner or later you'll get the call.

Some grey/pre-owned dealers are quite reputable, do your homework and ask around. Personally I've bought a Rolex from grey dealer and had no warranty issue when I sent in to RSC to fix a minor issue. If you're getting a pre-owned watch, some of these non-AD will do some polishing, light and heavy, which may affect the appearance of a case. Too much and the value goes down.

Only worry some components are replaced with refurbished staff. Indeed, this really happened. Even RSC never surrenders replaced part after service. Somehow, parts are still available in the market.
Noticeably, some AD prioritizes hot demand model selling to new customer of AD for "go to market" strategy.
True to too much of polish smooth up the case and the rotating bezel. Can be hand-feel from there. To the pre-owned shop, they are enhancing the appearance for selling purposes.

I'm not too sure on selling hot models to new customers strategy, generally it's the other way round. If you have purchase record, and a good one, you'll be sent to the top of the waiting list.

What I have is just a humble few, one for each occasion. Planning to lay off watches for a while. Nothing new is capturing my attention.

As far as I know only Rolex's price gap are so small between brand new & pre-owned, but sometimes u'll have no choice to buy it from retailers since AD will always says no stocks available and need to queue up. But if u were to buy pre-owned watches from retailers, better ask your friends see they have a regular shop to buy watch or not?? And also see if the shops provide any warranty or guarantee on their stocks or not...

U may go for preowned if budget constrain, but do the necessary due diligence.
Everest could be an alternative option, price range is similar to Rubber B.
Verify at RSC, AD, boutique etc. easier.
