Pay full deposit for BLNR?
« on: December 20, 2016, 08:41:58 PM »
Went to check with Rolex AD at The Gardens
They say if wanna put name in their waiting list need pay in full.

They said should be able to get it on Jan 2017, but sounds like no guarantee also.

Will you pay deposit in full and wait?
Or better I get from grey dealer or buy from UK?

I won't but this indicates something rather interesting.

Rolex requires all their ADs to spent a huge sum of money to set aside a good proportion of their shop for the brand. I would expect Rolex to reciprocate by allotting a number of watches to commensurate the demand expected (if the ADs can sell more, everyone gets rich). However, what we hear are supply constraints etc. I wonder is this is really true or it is just the AD hoarding  to squeeze the customers. If I am an AD and the brand does not support me in sales why should I bother continuing?

Not advisable to me as seems to be a method of jump queue and no guarantee. I'd suggest go for trusted grey dealer locally or try oversea dealer with good exchange rate.

How much is the cost? Sciphol airport selling at 6818 Euro, but stock is limited and depend on your luck to get one there.

Pay full is you really desperate. Or alternatively ask then wait until when ? And if by the time they can't give you the watch will they refund you back ?
