Where do you keep your watches?
« on: December 01, 2016, 07:30:11 AM »
For watches below RM10k, I keep in my home. For over that, I keep in my safety box. Although the safety box only cover Rm20k ~ 30k if missing, but I think the chances missing are very low.

What I do is, those watches I keep in my safety box is only a bare watches. No box, no warranty card and not staps. Yes, I removed the straps. Just in case the watches missing, reselling without straps will not easy. New straps always expensive. I keep the box and straps in my office and warranty at home.  ;D

laundry bag between towels

if a thief break in, i don't think he has time or interest looking at my laundry bag

drawers, boxes, safes are all thief priority target

I don't think much about it and keep all my watches in the drawer under the mirror and luckily never lost any of it.
I have a question for @tmsoo
it seems like spread your expensive watches all over the city just to make sure they are safe. What if you need any of it urgently and you don't have time to go at all 3 places collect the parts and assemble them all together to wear something which is your own property. I don't see any logic in it. I think you should have all of them in your house atleast so that whenever you need to wear any of those you can use them easily.

It just a watches and no way I need it urgently. I nvr hv this problem.  ;D

I have tools and if I need it, I just take the watch out from safety box and assembly the straps at anytime. My skill I need less than 2 mins to fit the straps.

I find retrieving watches from safe deposit cases in banks to be self-defeating as it makes it hard to appreciate the watches at nights as per my norm. I keep mine in batt-operated winders, which were in turn placed in safes away from prying eyes. Chubb mini banker safe is good for watch collectors, IMHO.

Yup i agree with you about this, but i also can understand if one owns lets say 10 pieces of watches with value around 30k-100k, then it will be a good idea to store 7 watches in the safebox and just leave 3 in the house for self appreciation at night.  ;D

Storing your precious watches in bank deposit box is the safest but on the way there or on the way back home is not safe  :Laughing_on_floor:

This... I use a different brand of safe. But this is generally what I do. I like to be able to access my watches anytime I wish and appreciate them at my leisure.
