5k got quite a lot brand and model u can take a look. Maybe u can write down what brand u prefer, dress or sporty look? Leather or bracelet or rubber? Size? New or preown?

this is more easier for all master to give u some recommendations.

Let me start first, how about longines hydroconquest automatic? Oris? Maurice?

I'm ok with any brands, prefer new watches but accept preowned brands like B&R, balls etc. Preferably rubber, bigger sized watch. Thanks a lot for your recommendation.

Since this is your first Swiss watch, If B&R and Ball I will recommend u go to B&R, reason very easy because not much people wearing B&R also that is only B&R have this design, well know brand and design.

I'm not said Ball no good, is just Ball design more commonly even u wearing Ball nobody can recognize u r wearing Ball.
Yes, we wearing watch is for ourself not for other people like this Casio/Seiko more that enough why we want to spend such much money for a watch?

To me 5-12k this price range wasn't competitive, so buy what u like.

Pardon my English. ;)

B&R is definitely a good and wise choice to start with.

Lots of decent choices to choose from, but at around that budget, I will recommend that you take a look at the Oris Diver Sixty Five range.

Not a true diver watch due to the 100m depth rating, but overall it's a great looking watch without ripping your wallet. Personally I love the vintage style and the domed sapphire crystal is just pure sexy. And to top it off, there are multiple variations and straps for you to choose according to your needs.

Here's some review for your reading pleasure:

If you want to learn from my lessons, buy whatever watch you have been looking at the longest. Remember looking to buy a tag for years before I finally spent 6k on a carrera. Still think it was the best choice I made. Not so sure about my zenith and Tudor.

Well said

Let me share mine, when I want to spend my first luxury watch, first decide 3777... after that compare and compare, keep going change my mine to other brand... almost 5-6 months to make decision... finally my gf ask me straight away take 3777, until today never regret!

Like today I plan to get my first Rolex, I love explorer 1 quite many year, before that I still think about sub c, or gmt ii... finally now I ask my SA to keep one explorer 1 for me, waiting Dec go back home town to collect  ;)

Usually you won't see popular model go on sale, unless you get a good discount with a seller you know.

Staying in sarawak. Went to try the other day at the only shop that sells B&R. Going to KL for holiday soon. Would like to know if there's any ongoing sales there

Actually sales event not a good deal if u are regular customer, KL I have do idea and lobang... So how much discount they offer u? And what is your prefer price? Set as the target and then go to KL ask for best discount, remember cash is king!
