I think you shouldn't worry about resale value in this price range.
Just have fun and be adventurous,otherwise you limit yourself.
Since this is your first watch,just enjoy it.

bro, you said you prefer any shape Except Circle

which mean rectangular, triangle, square or whatever not circle (round)

and you started to worry on resell value

as far as i know not much resell value for rectangular, triangle , square shape watches if you can find any

the only one which is good looking and hold value is the JLC Reverso series

but that one more your expected budget of below 5k

Tag Monaco series also nice but still above your budget, unless you are willing to pay more

Cartier Tank also nice

Bro, aviator MIG-29 GMT with blue dial should suit u If u dislike too common(popular)brand. It's bit look alike B&R style. With 45mm Square shape. I had one. 100% Swiss made of course. With GMT function. But it's not mechanical movement. So running accurate for me to casual use haha. Retail price is around 2k only before get discount.  Go have a look! It's not a bad choice for u...

For the first thing, since it was your first watch, you shouldn't think about the resell value first, just buy the one you feel nice, comfortable and the most important part is buy what you like and you'll wear it.

It's very easy. Go around the mall and find the watch that you like. RM 5k has plenty of choices.
