I think the batt will last at least for 1-2 yrs... No need to keep stock at home... It is easily available at any watchshop... ( or at least i think it that way)

Correct me if I am wrong but 'Non-standard' batteries implies it is not something that is available at your typical corner shop. However, it needs to be sourced at specialist shops.  Having said that, it is still readily available.
