For me, it is a good watch. They using others & also have inhouse movements. For me its line up more into dress watch. More rugged model such as timewalker is nice too. But if i have the opportunity, will opt the nicolas rieussec line

I still prefer the brand for its writing instruments than its timepieces. Waiting for its new Rouge et Noir Special Edition to hit the boutiques in due time. What a handsome piece!

They have their own in house movement and fairly young in history.

Mont Blanc produces good and value for money watch, IMHO, and they are also able to produce the high-end range with Minerva movements.

frankly, for me MB is more or less the Same as Oris or Maurice or longines (provided they all use similar range of
movements... eg ETA 2824, etc)  The rest whether GOOD or NOT , is all depends on your own definition of
what is GOOD for "YOU" .... eg. design (heritage/diver/pilot/complication, etc) , service centre, discount,
brand image that you want to get associated, and important you buy what you like it and you will wear it !
that is good watch to you (each person has different GOOD watch ) !!

having say that the price wise, MB is on a higher bracket ...

Price : MB = Maurice > Oris = Longines
Brand (IMHO) : MB > Longines > Maurice/Oris...
Design : all has its strength (Oris ...good looking diving pieces, MB ..nice classic/heritage design, Maurice...good
dress watch eg. pontos, and nice divers watch range recently, and Longines...nice heritage designs..

IMHO, if you are looking at MB price range, you may also consider Tudor, Brietling, Omega, Sinn, Ball,
Rado, Tag Heuer ...  but again, depends what you are looking for ...

Longines - Audrey Hepburn, Tudor - small Rolex , Breitling - Pilot watch, Omega - Moon watch, Sinn - Uboat submarine, Ball - Working at -40 degrees Celsius, Rado - scratch resistance, Tag Heuer-F1 Motorsport.

My first impression to Mont Blanc is always the Snow top mountain logo pen.

Don't hold on to the public perceptions on the brand image when you make decision for buying watch. Normally it will reflects on its price with premium (if any) that the brand is able to command.

Rule of thumb: Buy what you like and what you can afford. Watch should not be considered as an investment tool.

Just sharing my view. Cheers..

Montblanc's main income for the past couple of years has been timepiece and no longer pens or bags. Jerome Lambert, the CEO of Montblanc was formerly the CEO of JLC. As part of the Richemont group and the contacts and under the leadership of JL, I'm keeping a close eye on their product development and have high hopes for them in the future.

Where else could you get a perpetual calendar like THIS for abt USD13,000
