I've seen one in person at a watch shop. Really built like a tank. It also comes with a rubber guard for additional durability. If you're looking for a daily beater, this is it.

Victorinox is charging RM80 to change battery (as told to me by an AD). To ensure watch remains like a tank, 'tests' need to be made....

Oh  o...it really put me off.
I think there are not many shop equips with the water resistance test device. :Blue:L

Change of battery could be done at any decent watch shop, as ASCs would generally charge a premium inclusive of the tests. I was quoted RM250 for a Tag Heuer change of battery with the tests too and inclusive of change of seal. And now for a little bit of industry secret. Some franchises charge differently depending on the type/grade of the watch, despite it being the same battery. I used to work in a watch franchise decades ago during my apprenticeship, and there was a "Grade A/B/C" list for battery change. So the same battery for a house brand watch was RM5 (yes, it was significantly cheap during that time); for a Japanese Seiko/Citizen was RM8 (slight premium); and when it came to Swiss watches, it was significantly higher according to the brand's standing in the list. Not sure if this was still practised today as I have been out of touch with the industry for so long, but that was how it was back then.

Different brand battery although voltage is the same as per specification but due the ingredients volume variance in battery, there will be slightly difference in voltage fluctuation. If swiss make ronda quartz movement, advisable stays with Renata swiss made battery.

Well, you didn't get conned- you paid for a Swiss-branded battery for additional peace-of-mind. But having seen loads of Swiss quartz with Japanese batteries powering them over the years and without any adverse results, I dare say that they work fine too, mate.

Agreed. I use Japanese batteries for my Swiss watch and for my wife's too. No problem at all. Some of my friends are doing the same.

Been doing my own DIY for my casios, Tissots, Seikos and suuntos using Japanese batteries. No issue what so ever. However, do note that some TLC is required for the seals to ensure it does not go brittle too soon such as putting a bit of silicone wax after every battery change.

New inox is such a beauty!

But what I do not understand why it has no automatic movement!!! Why only quartz movement....arrrrrr

such a huge case for 200m water resistant. I have one victorinox and use it for harst environment without the need to worry bout getting scatches and scuff.
