For sale is a rare IWC Big Pilot Ref 5002 originally launched in 2002 which was recently serviced by IWC boutique in August 2015. IWC Big Pilot is one of the best samples regarding the classic B-Uhren design pilot watches.
The IWC Big pilot is powered by IWC's in-house caliber 5011. This 7 day power reserve beats at 2.5Hz features the highly praised Pellaton Winding System, originally designed by the IWC Technical Director, Albert Pellaton in the 1940's. Unlike the standard caliber design, the movement of the rotor is not transmitted to a wheel train via a gear system but, through a cam which increases the durability of the rotor wheel. It also has protection against magnetic fields, a screw-in crown, convex sapphire glass with anti-reflective coating on both sides and the crystal is secured against displacement by drop in air pressure.
The watch is in a very good condition complete with box and papers.
