Seiko Turtle SRP 789 K
« on: April 05, 2016, 03:37:48 PM »
Here is a wrist shot of the newly acquired turtle. I saw it, fell in love with it and without thinking too much about it, brought her home...without the wife knowing yet ...

Here she is...in all her glory, right next to her cousin, the classic 007. I do however, have one gripe. While the size and fit of the watch is perfect for my 6 1/2 inch wrist. The steel bracelet that came with it digs into my skin after I have sized it. I sized it how I size all my other watches. And it is the diver extension that caused the discomfort. I didn't know about it till after I got home and sized it. I size all my watches on my own as I like to fiddle with the final fit. Apart from changing bracelets or wearing it with a NATO or rubber strap, is there a way where I can get rid of the diver extension? Any advice is much appreciated.

Cheers/Patrick

Nice watch there. Wish i had the $$$ to get one.....haha

BTW, regarding bracelets with divers extension, I usually resize it to be abit loose. These types of bracelets cannot be resized to fit exactly or you will face the current problem. Try adding back one link and use the micro adjustment to make the fit better.

Thanks for the tip. Was hoping that there was a way to remove the diver's extension

I've been wearing your Turtle Coke's sibling i.e. Turtle Pepsi, since last weekend as my main piece. Can't get tired of the classic look, and now no worries on the WR and timeliness compared to the old Turtle. The new Turtles are

Afaik there is no way to remove the divers extension, except for replacing the whole deployant clasp with one that has no divers extension, eg the one on the Baby Monster.

Very nice turtle. May I ask for a wrist shot of your SKX to get a feel for how the two compare on the wrist?

Sure...here is my turtle on a nato due to the fact that I prefer to wear my watches snugly and the steel bracelet isn't really much in the comfort department.

And a shot of the 007

I must say that the turtle is really growing on me. I find myself staring at the beautifully simple yet classic and legible dial. Lume is strong and lasts quite a bit too. Everything about it is just right...

Great pics.  Looks good on nato, too bad the clasp is uncomfortable.  I wonder if Turtle looks better with Nato or on rubber.

I haven't had the time to go look for rubber straps yet. But the isofrane will be a strong competitor. Will post pictures up when I have the chance to go get one. You are really reading my thoughts here my friend ????????????
