40mm diver

Hi all,

been a while since started a post. I got bitten by the watch bug again. recently purchased the tudor chronograph.

Looking at my collection i noticed a diver is lacking.

however i have put a restrictions of maximum 40mm with bezel. Care to suggest?

I am deeply in love with PO, however that come in 38 or 42mm.

Budget would be around the PO, max. (~15k, roughly but prefer less than 10k)

Used or new.

At your maximum, and with a lot of perseverance, you can find a used Rolex Submariner 14060. Cant be too patient though. Rolex prices are increasing and sooner rather than later, it will be out of your budget's maximum range.

technically the PO 42mm is a 40mm diver.
the 42mm measurement is taken from its asymetrical case...while the bezel actually measures 40.5mm across.

as a comparison, a submariner bezel measure 39.5mm across.

what matters more on how a watch feels is from the bezel diamater, dial diameter, lug to lug length etc...not just by basing on overall case dimensions.

I am a fan of SM, having owned the Pro and PO previously. Looking at the PO 37.5mm on your wrist, it looked like it was a good fit for you. I was going to recommend the Sub 116610 or 114060, but the 40mm with maxi-case might looked bigger than 40mm so it may not be a good fit on your wrist. It looked like you may have a smaller selection of diver watches to choose from since 40mm was like the smallest sizes these days, so that unisex PO 37.5mm might be a good bet in this case.

I was hoping theres an old version of po but 40mm. Is there? I tried search many forum i guess there is none.

Seamaster diver is okay too but not a fan of such bracelet. Especially the polished bits.

I agree sub is maybe the best i can get. But none selling within my armamentarium warchest.

Maybe add a bit on your budget to get a Tudor Pelagos (Blue). Value for money, IMHO.

Pelagos just 1mm bigger. Just nice, IMHO.

the PO looks just right for you... never mind if it's classified as "ladies" size, if it fits and you like it then go for it!

If you could bump up the requirement to 41mm, the BB would make a nice addition. You would be spoilt for choices at 42mm ono but it all depends on whether your wrist could pull it off.

I genuinely thought that the PO 37.5mm looked rather befitting on your wrist. You would want to wear the watch and not the other way round. I have had my share of getting humongous watches- only to flip them off after a while. But cest la vie, that's part and parcel of the charm being WIS

Oh btw, I have a 6" wrist. Small Asian wrists too.

for my opinion i will suggest rolex nondate submariner 14060m or iwc aquatimer.
iwc aquatimer second hand price is low and attractive, it worth to consider it.
on the other hand, rolex nondate submariner stay strong and legendary.  it is the watch never let you down on any occasion.

Hehe, am a bike nut and had neighbours whom were bike nuts. Before signing the dotted line on the GS, try the Adventure 1050 too. With the CKD price and the overseas reviews, looked like a great deal.

Both the Sub and Pelagos are great diver watches- I tend to wear them on an alternate basis at one point in time. I think that one can't do wrong with purchases of either/both these watches. Oh, and add PO into the list too    (although these days, I have been wearing the Turtle Pepsi on a daily basis.

40mm is IMO the sweet spot for us with small wrists, however, searching far and wide I cannot find the watches I want in that size.  I ended up looking for other criteria: the lug to lug length (from the top to the bottom), the thickness of the watch, and the lug shape.  I ended up with a Pelagos, which somehow to my eye fits better on me than a Black Bay.  I only wish my Pelagos looked as good on my tiny wrist as it does on alexkemaris!!

Ditto to that. been thinking of getting the PO instead. however i am exploring options. Black bay is a tad smaller than pelagos and i try both. Since i have already one Tudor in stable, thinking of adding another brand.

Cant really seem to find that 40mm diver that tick all the boxes (except the sub, which is expensive)

how about the 41mm omega SMP ceramic, some similarilties with the Sub look-wise, very solid build and much cheaper
