i was quoted rm80k for the white dial from one of the ad in penang...

Hey man, IMO shit AD you got quoted there. If you were dealing with them before this, i think you should put a stop. There are soo much reliable ADs you could trust and depend on for example The Hour Glass. They quote one of the best price and even better than Grey Dealers sometimes! Im still waiting for them for the new SS Ceramic Daytona quotation. Will update you guys once i receive news from them :)

Or UAE...i remember someone in this forum said SS models there are not popular.

Popularity has increased as some are speculating that the SS models will be discontinued with the ceramic models release

Hourglass always selling steel Daytona above list. One of the staff from hourglass tried to sell it to me for 17k sgd. very hard to get discount there and they have a lot of VIP to deal with before they look at small customer like us. If your not big buyer I don't think you will have any luck with hour glass.

Good for you. Envious.

On a separate note, I checked with another AD in Australia, they will not indicate a price as they have not received the pricelist. And they will not put me on the waitlist because there is no pricing yet. Possible to PM your AD?

hey Man, it's definitely easier to deal with Swiss AD and rest assured they will not sell above retail price but it is not very common for Swiss AD to offer discount especially for Rolex, PP, etc. But, you'll not deal with bunch of arrogant ADs as what members have shared here..... And, it may be easier to get the model you want compared to the ridiculous waiting list Msia!

As you know, as tourist, you can claim the tax refund, which is not going to be as much as other European countries as Swiss VAT is only 8%.

Newbie in purchasing from oversea.. how do you purchase when you cant bring a lot cash?? do you guys done deal via credit card?
i think there is a cap amount $$ (not sure how huge amount allow) bring to oversea. The  new Rolex daytone is price more than the cap amount if not mistaken.

Yes, indeed there is a limit imposed as part of measures to deal with money laundering issue. In the case of Switzerland, you will be asked questions on the origin/source of the money if you are carrying more than chf10k or in the case of most countries, more than Eur10k....if you have not sourced ur money from illegal business, personally i dont think why u should worry on this, just declare....a hassle i agree! On the other hand, i would never carry that amount of cash travelling abroad due to theft issue. I would normally use my debit or credit card to purchase large sum items...been doing that with no problem....just call the bank and let them know you will be travelling to certain countries.... The only downside is of course FX rate imposed by the bank plus some commission imposed by Master or Visa will add to the cost.....But for convenience and peace of mind, that's an acceptable cost!

Actually i prefer credit card purchase rather than cash.. it is save, convenience and safer during travel... it just my past experience where I encounter credit card block during purchase time when amount exceed a certain limit... this happen in the past when i try to purchase, transaction get rejected due abnormal transaction (safety feature).. need to contact bank to inform the i'm doing purchase.. if at oversea, it might be troublesome to contact bank..

Is multiple credit card usage to purchase allow at oversea?

Ceramic Daytona is top.

Its a very hot piece.

Hodinkee just did another write up on it. http://www.hodinkee.com/articles/the-new-rolex-daytona-reference-116500ln-details

Btw some ppl been asking me where I got mine ordered from. It from Smales and the list price is $15,700 AUD. After claim gst is $14272.72 AUD.

Its a reasonable list price imo.

I'm waiting to view the Air King 2016 in the flesh, or rather in real metal. I still think that it is such a surprising move for Rolex to sway from the beaten path in the Air King. The Daytona Ceramic has been anticipated for years, so it's kind of expected to an extent; but that Air King was just simply ooh-la-la...

If anyone is on the hunt for a ss Daytona and has upcoming plans to visit Korea, I was in Seoul a couple of week ago and saw at a number of ADs the white version on display at list. If I recall correctly they were priced around won14m...
