I bought two system 51 swatch. As a watch, not so good. Mine running fast while my wife's running slow. But I digress. Don't jump the gun. Just go hunt around. When I started there's no forum or Internet to get advices. I have a lot of junk automatic watches in my drawers. Add them up and you can get a decent Swiss watch.

Just go look around (new and pre-owned). Impulse buy always ended up with buyer's remorse. At least for my experience. Good luck hunting.

I think very important is for you to state the purpose of the watch, I would assume it is for daily usage. Then the next question is what kind of watch u like as your first watch. Dive watch? Dressy abit? Chronograph? By answering this, you can then narrow down your search.

thanks for your opinion to make my search easier. for now im searchign for dress watches but im not really trying to search dress watches only. still wanna try and find other designs as long as it suits my interest. but my actual target is to find watches that will go well with a suit n tie.

yes i agree well with your idea about impulse buying. if you guys dont mind, do you guys have any suggestions on where to find pre owned watches? and by that i mean stores that i can actually see and feel the watch itself rather than going through online. for now i only know shops that sell brand new watches. :(

Lots of choices, for brand new swiss watch, tissot, hamilton, certina etc all suitable for your price range, just have to hardcore bargain.. lol.

My suggestion would be Seiko. Theres a new prospex model, the re-release of the vintage turtle. You can go check it out. SKX007, 009, a monster or a baby tuna would do.

What is your wrist size? The watch look big on the wrist in the pic.

Sapphire Glass and power reserve sounds good.

Buy what look nice on your wrist and comfortable with your wallet.

The Japanese trio of Seiko, Orient, Citizen usually give tremendous value versus their price and they are usually available locally and you can always try them on your wrist.

Alternatively with your budget, you can take a look at German Brand - Laco (although if you have higher budget, i would have poison you to get Stowa), they have watches with Miyota auto movement (Citizen) and price around 322 to 362 EUR (excluded VAT), which is quite well price for its brand offering. Off course you may have to buy online from Germany and have to bear the shipping + GST, still you should definitely take a look. (I am not sure Malaysia have Laco AD or not)

Alternatively, you can check out one of the online AD of Laco from Singapore (pm me for website)

For example: Laco ROM is only USD410 (shipping included)

Movement: Automatic movement Laco 21, 3 hands
Case: Stainless steel, brushed finish, sapphire glass, case-back with sapphire glass, 5 ATM, case diameter 42 mm, domed crown, 20 mm lug width
Dial: Black mat with Superluminova indexes C3, execution according B-Uhr Baumuster A
Hands: Hour, minute and second black mat with Superluminova inlay C3
Band: High quality stainless steel band with curved endpiece, stainless steel folding buckle with logo "Laco / 1925", 20 mm lug width
Packaging: Black gift box, incl. cardboard box
Made in Germany.
