SIHH 2016

Some interesting watches being launched at the current SIHH. VC's Overseas line seems interesting, but just felt IWC overdid it with their pilots' series.

So far, The new Vacheron Constantin Oversea blue hit me alot. But its out of my range.

Also, being a flieger guy, i have some love for the new IWC Pilot, especially the blue dial, but couldnt justify the price.

The new Omega moonphase Chronograph in blue also very macho.

Overall, its all blue.... for SIHH 2016

Not a fan of Cartier, but I think they hit a homerun with their new watch. Looks like a square but with rounded edges. And the price was affordable for the brand.

What do you guys think about the Panerai launches? I feel its pretty similar to what IWC did..main objective to cater to the mass markets..just my 2 cents

Panerai focus on regular model for this year, but literally
No Submersible
No Chronographs
No Mare Nostrum
No Regatta
No Pocket Watch
No Table Clock
No Ceramic
No Composite
No Gold
No Platinum
No Bronze

Yeah, i agree - of all the watches that i can realistically afford (so no Grand Sonneries or Tourbillon Perpetuals), the Cartier Drive is my favorite of the lot.    The grey and black dials both look gorgeous.

The blue Reverso would be there too, but it is just one size smaller than ideal - else it would have been my next purchase.

VC's blue Overseas is nice but man they have hiked the prices on it!

I thought the new Vacheron Overseas looks amazing, but out of reach of most of course.

That Cartier Drive is truly stunning!!  I think this will sell like hotcakes.  I love the case shape and how the shape flows into the lugs.

I only wish they had made it with approx 100m of WR.   Not that i plan to go swimming with that watch, but it'd be nice to not have to worry about water damage, splashing, etc.  A very masculine-looking watch like that shouldnt be something that needs to be coddled.

I am looking forward to seeing one in flesh - and this one i may end up buying.

The Cartier drive is the winner for me. Priced to perfection. In house movement. Very good design. I want one.

I couldn't find any mention of water resistance, has it no water resistance at all?  I agree a somewhat sporty watch (which is what they are aiming this to be) needs some water resistance.

I guess it comes down to personal preference taste, but for some reason the steel bracelet of the VC Overseas does not still quite float my boat.

I read on one of the blogs that it had 50m WR.

So no go for swimming (not that i plan to, with a leather strap), but enough to raise concerns about water damage if i were to splash water on it wrongly (probably wont be an issue, but i am pretty sure I'd get NO warranty help if water went in for some reason).

Bit of a shame - a rugged watch like that would look flat-out gorgeous on a high-end rubber strap.    Still, that isnt going to stop me from getting one.  I've wanted a grey dial for a while, and had been sort of eyeing a VC Overseas, but it didnt sing to me enough.  This one, OTOH... I really hope it looks as good in person as it does in flesh, b/c if so, it might be my next purchase.
