Get Your Monies Ready- The Turtles Are Coming Home...
« on: November 18, 2015, 02:38:05 PM »
In other words, the updated Seiko 6306/9 are coming home. Now known as SRP773/5/7/9, the updated 6306/9 were essentially the same design but updated into the Prospex range, slightly bigger and with the modern robust workhorse i.e. 25j 4R36. Eagerly waiting for them to hit the local market and getting my monies ready. They were reportedly going at RRP : RM2k+, although by the time they hit Malaysia, the prices could be different depending on how MYR was doing. Well, one thing's for sure, I know that Meor would most likely snatched the 1st turtle to hit our shores, LOL  Good news for us Seikoholics...

Well, we have the Forex and GST to thank for the increasing prices. Seiko used to have healthy discounts at ADs- now, they were cutting on discounts too besides the adjustments in prices  :HammerHead:

I believed Seiko's Hardlex crystal ain't no slouch in itself. I had a Seiko that suffered a sharp drop many, many years back. The Hardlex chipped a bit (and relatively cheap to change at Thong Sia), whereas a sapphire would have shattered in such a fall.

this looks really interesting, I always liked the 6309 design.  Do you have any info on the measurements (width, lug to lug length, and strap size?)

I am currently considering between the 775 and 787 as I already own a SKX009.
I'm leaning towards the 787 but is confused as from the pictures I've seen the blue on the bezel appears light in some pictures and darker (deeper blue) in others. Which one is the correct tone or are there 2 blue versions?

It seems that I'm going crazy over Seiko Diver. Just got my Seiko Monster and now eyeing on this and the Sumo.
Question.. why is some of the SRP779 has got red minute hand? Is this the latest model?
