Need some advise
« on: November 01, 2015, 02:00:53 PM »
Sifus n seniors...

I've been offered a hamilton watch with valjoux 7750 movement. No box and papers n also the sellers say one of the stopwatch not reset back to zero. So, is it ok to take the watch and how much it will cost to repair the movement?

Thanks

Which Hamilton model are you refer to. Without paper, of course that watch has no more warranty. So you have to cover repair/service cost at your own. I suggest you to contact Swatch Group Service Centre and ask them the estimated cost for full overhauling of that watch.Overhauling mechanical choronograph movement is not cheap. Then you can value that watch plus considering when that watch is bought and cosmetic condition of the case, bracelet and sapphire crystal.

Hmm, just saying, chronograph function for fake watch usually not working as intended. Unless u are buying from reputable or trusted source, else, I dont see why the risk. U didnt mention the price, but ya, let the seller send to swatch.

do you have the photo of the watch.i have a watchmaker friend who is very familiar with eta 7750 movement.but servicing a 7750 itself will cost few hundred ringgit.chronograph second hand failling reset to zero might caused of the reset spring which cost around rm 150 to change

Nice watch, but what is your main factor choosing this watch? Either it is a brand, function , movement, budget or you just like the design of this Hamilton. When I start my interest in swiss watch, I try so hard to get my first mechanical chronograph. There is first time for everything  ;D

I just loved hamilton. I owned 3 of them now and this will be the 4th. Plan to buy the 5th (and the last hopefully... ;D) khaki scuba before end of the year.
