Tried asking a used shop watch in Ampang Park to sell one of my Rolex. The guy wanted to rip me off by offering me 50% off the purchase price

Some of the shop will offer you a real low price. Try to check for a few more to get you some idea how much your watch value. I usually go around some pre owned shop to check and roughly get me a idea how much it worth.
They are looking for watch boxes as well lol. Last time a shop quote me RM200 for a iwc box

I was very close to buying a watch there. Mr Chan seems very friendly. However I noticed he doesn't know his wares well and most of the watches don't come with box and cert. Condition so so only.

I would sell directly in the forums.

Also just checked the prices of some watches on the secondary market today, its insane and expensive.

Ho to know if the seller here sell genuine stuff?. some offers quite good price, but some prefer buy from shop as genuine is assured. Even box also the shop want to buy.. fishy ah..,

Abit difficult to arrange the seller to meetup to a watch shop for verification.... Need to trust the guts..

I used to buy a pre-owned Rolex from one of the MWF merchant in East Malaysia last year without pre-verification, only based on the warranty the merchant offers and photos sent to me before the purchase. So far a smooth transaction and the watch is genuine.

You can go to mudah to check what the preowned dealers are selling to get the market price.

I think they changed the forum rules to only preowned. Might be counterfeits going around I'd soppose ?

buying a Rolex is a big investment, best to get papers with the watch. There are AAA fakes out there so best bet is to get
from a reliable seller, with full papers or pay someone to check it out
