Brand new unworn Ball Enginer II GMT II - worth buying ?
« on: August 22, 2015, 03:06:02 PM »

Dear Sifus, I am quite a newbie in watch collection. A local watch dealer approached my dad on a brand new unworn Ball watch:

Model: GM1032C-S1AJ-BK
price:rm3000
Condition: straight out of box brand new

Is it a good buy?

Go for it if you like it....i saw the exact same model selling for more or less similar price at wingwah a couple of weeks ago.... Personally i may not buy this as i think the dial is a bit busy....ball gmt ohio is better i think.... But at that price, more than 50pct off, it's a steal....i may not buy it because of the style but i would certainly buy it for the price and if i am in the market for ball watches.... Honestly, at rm3k for a new watch i can't think of a better alternative....

I will buy it if and only if I like the watch and/ or I really like the GMT function.
Buying any watches just because it is cheap / steal, without really liking it is a bad idea. Unless you are getting a Rolex or Patek at steal price, where you can flip to make miney

Yes of course a very fundamental point...  It is indeed A steal but buy it only if you like it.....

But to be honest even if i encounter a rolex or a patek at a steal price i would even stay million miles away unless if the seller happens to be my father who will sell it to me at a 'steal' price..... Rolex or patek at a steal would only means a fake one unless from your dad or somebody with interest in you.....Lol.....

well at the current exchange rate is only USD700 .... good for daily beater, rough use. Why not ? But don't expect to make $ or arbitrage coz Ball watches hard to sell 2nd hand and doesn't fetch much

Wow. Brand new and unworn is only RM3000. I saw this model at one of the pre-owned shop selling at RM4200.

hi, it's an old model so that's why it's offered at a big discount. if ur dad likes it then go for it. i think it's a good buy at the price as i remember last year looking at it and was offered 4K+ for it...
