Water stains on the flange of my 16700

Hello bro and sis and the experts. Im jason and new here.
I bought my gmt 16700 many many years ago, maybe 7 or 8years, used from a reputable seller.
I wore it to the pool and to the sea many times. Recently noted there are stains on the flange at 1 and 11 o'clock. Water stains? Or was it already there when i bought it? Me not sure and now no longer dare to test it underwater.
What shud i do? I wear this occasionally though, in rotation of my other watches.
I was wondering shud i bring it to rsc for service, and roughly how much i will be charge?
2nd question is shud i change the bezel? Friends told me to keep this as it has its vintage charms. But my ocd for neat thing always wanted a new bezel. Can i change and request to keep the old one? I heard they will not return the replaced parts.

When was the watch last serviced? It might be a gasket that has worn out causing this. I would sent it back to RSC for a service. Might cost you anywhere between 1.5K to 2.5K depending on what parts needs replacing. I would keep the dial, hands and bezel as is as your friend is right about trying to maintain a "vintageness" to the watch.

Experienced it before, try use hair dryer blow for half an hour. Otherwise, send to sc then. Sc would probably advise u go for overhaul service

Thanks. But it is not a condensation. Dont think heat will help much. Considering to bring it to rsc. But in this sorry state of economy and starving wallet, a bit ambivalent  as the watch is still running perfectly or so it seems.

First of all, may I say that you have a very nice watch. With your personality for being a perfectionist with OCD, I would advise you to bring your watch to RSC and only RSC.

WHY? Well, no where beats the professionalism in RSC. The technician are trained for many years to service Rolex. They have the proper tools, gauges, equipment and accessories/parts for your beloved watch. Lastly, you are and will be paying for a peace of mind because you know your watch are in good professional hands.

Although, RSC charges more than "Grey Workshop" RSC offer a guarantee after the watch is serviced. It will look and be as good as new once they have finished servicing it. Besides, you can always get a quotation before they go ahead with the servicing.

IMO - I rather pay about 30% more than to have regrets if I were to let others open up my Rollies

Thumbs up on this reference.  The 16700 certainly has its own charm...

Thumbs up to those who suggested RSC.   Get it done and keep the service papers properly.

As for bezel. its personal.  A new one will be bright and shiny but you'll lose that `faded' charm. 

Post a shot again after it has been serviced.  A truly nice watch...

Talking about procrastination, I finally brought my watch for service! After 5years of me asking for advice from the sifus here.
I wore it almost daily on work days. It was so beaten after years of abuse. It looks so pretty and pristine after its service from the RSC, so i wear it less now, worrying that it will gets scratch and loss its perfection. Argh... the paradox of being pretty and pristine

I would personally have kept the bezel, but it is your watch so it is your choice. Congratulations!

Now, wear the watch. In a decade's time, your beaten up GMT will need just another service to get her looking spick and span again.
