Bell & Ross Type Demineur
« on: June 05, 2015, 08:31:52 PM »
French civil defense bomb squad specialists chose to partner with Bell
& Ross. Upon request from the French Civil Defense and according to
operational specifications, Bell & Ross elaborated the Demineur Type.
With an anti and non-magnetic watchcase, this watch meets the
requirements of bomb disposal operations thanks to its qualities of
readability, reliability and precision.

The original Demineur was made by Sinn model after Sinn 810 with a
coin edge unidirectional bezel but this one here is the later model
produced by BR which marked an important milestone for BR.
This model was subsequently discontinued in 2005, Type Demineur never
made in into the mainstream mainly due to its 38mm size which shadowed
by the big case frenzy in the early 2000. Nevertheless it remain as a
legend to the tool watch enthusiasts, imagine we have tonnes of
watches for aviators, divers and racers but purpose built wrist watch
for bomb disposal professional is probably a handful if not the only
one.

Movement: Quartz with analogue display. Long lasting battery (5years).
Functions: hours, minutes and seconds. Date. Case: Satin finish
stainless steel. Unidirectional rotating bezel with 60 minutes
graduations. Dial: black matte or white dial. Fluorescent hands and
makers. Glass: Antiglare sapphire crystal glass. Water-resistance:
200m. Strap: Stainless steel or semi-rigid synthetic fabric bracelet.

 Nice watch... in addition to it being a practical watch (for the pros), it is also very pleasant looking... Caught my eyes a couple of years back too.

French is good at design, I like most of the B&R design, the dial and the case as well.
I like the hour hand of this watch you are sharing here, quite unique to me. Thanks.
The Daytona C in Steel is my dream watch now...

Wasn't really looking at bell&ross, didn't really like their design concept and available range. However this watch of yours is amazing. Started to read up more on bell&ross, most of the pieces when they were collaborating with sinn is beautiful.
And thank you for the enlightment.

I just read how B&R was created... There is another watch before this Demineur, D1.

And big salute to helmet sinn who helped the 2 young men to set up BR

When I first encounter B&R this Demineur is their coolest watch which purpose built for bomb squad, but that time I can't afford such luxury. By the time I saved enough its discontinued until recently with help from some friends I found this old new stock to fulfilled my dream.
