Newbie- Seiko Sportura SNAF34P1

-Sharing-

hi greeting to all sifus, newbie here :D

recently i just bought a Seiko SNAF34P1 Sportura Quartz watch, thought of buying a Fossil or Armani watch but i find that most of the reviews are more likely to be not so good in term of quality and value (not all but a few watches tht i tend to buy), so i just gv up my mind. hopefully seiko can last for years  :Praying:

btw, i wonder why this watch is kinda hard to get here in Malaysia and also Singapore, i guess it has been discontinued?

brief intro about this watch:

Case material, Bezel, Strap- Stainless steel(polished)
Sapphire Crystal
Japan movement T762 quartz
Chronograph: Minutes, small Second, Alarm
Screwed-in crown
10 ATM water resistant

can sifus here give some opinions regarding this watch? and should i go to watch outlet to change a better battery for this kind of  quartz watch?  thx much  :D

Congrats on choosing Seiko over Fossil and the like; they are after all a true watch maker. If cared for I'm sure it will last for many years.

What do you mean by a better battery? Just leave it with the stock battery and change it when the juice runs out :)

Cool watch, WAY better than a Fossil or Armani.  Seiko id's one of the great manufacturers with a long history of geological innovation.  You might be interested to know that the dark coating on your watch is titanium carbon nitride applied by way of physical vapour deposition.  Trick!

Congrats! Like others have already pointed out, designer labels are no match against true watchmaking company! And, i am also curious what do you mean by changing a better battery?

-sry for late reply sifus, a bit busy these few days-

thx, i believe i've made a good choice by choosing seiko ;D

my friend told me that there are 2 types of battery which is liquid type and powder type, better to use the powder type one as it wont leak out chemical liquid after a long period? does it make sense?

thx! :), anyway as a newbie i wonder does Fossil or Armani really make low quality watch?, their watches aren't cheap tho, or they are expensive because of fashion? or brand name?   ???

i know its PVD but i dint know the thing about titanium carbon nitride lol, whats so special about it?
